    Did he not fail his medical at West Ham too? But they took a punt on him to try and stay up.

    I'd like to think the tight fisted one at the top wouldn't sign a player like Ba without the wages being heavily appearance based.

    I have faith in many people still managing some Ba threads haha.

    Should have his wages dependent on getting injured long term, doubt Ba would agree though.

    Just read on his wikipedia that a potential move to Stuttgart fell through too due to a failed medical a few years ago - when was the last time he passed a medical?!

    You've got to ask - is it likely the transfer will fall through because of this? Or have we written a very specific contract protecting us against any issues?

    He was on a pay as you play deal at West Ham so they covered themselves that way, i would imagine we would do the same.

    The best thing about this is he's on a free. Hopefully we can get Erding plus one other striker. While we're at it, lets try and offload Xisco. See if anyone is willing to give us money for him

    Makes sense, a good striker, on a free. Lets just hope he isnt the only striker we bring in.

    youb got to hand it to the club getting rid of nolan and replacing him with ba and making a 4-6m profit is great business. and the thing is MA is a good business man so we can pretty much be assured he isnot on a stupid amount a week like 75k and if he is on something that high it will be performance based, we know mike likes his performance and apperance related bonuses .

    i know he fails medicals because of his knee but he never got injured at west ham and he was there since jan. hes also a decent striker and looked good in a poor team ( west ham had good individuals imo but played poorly as a team ).

    Great bit of business. I remember when we all started saying we'd like Ba and said we'll probably not be linked with him anyway, and were all suggesting prices of around 4-6mil... now we're actually getting him on a FREE!

    thought we did get rid of xisco? also i dont think its fair to judge him when hes played in our first team hes probably been the best player on the pitch, yes i know weve only seen him twice or somthing. and he did score remember? the thing is he hasnt player for us again because apparently there is some sort of clause which mean we have to fork over an extra few mil or something if he plays a certain amount of games.

    50k a week means he will wear #9 and 15+ goals are expected of him... if his knee permits it he can justify the shirt.

    Cant see him getting the #9. Not at all. Pardews said it will only be given to someone who has earned the right to wear it..
