36 points from last 38 PL matches - it could be argued that not making a change may mean that relegation is inevitable. That I would suggest is a worse time - like shutting the door after the horse has bolted.
This , a united front is needed atm ,If he's off at the end of the season so be it but there's still work to do and still points to win.
Dai read it on P Swans , no substance to the story at all.If he's off then lets be bold, Paul Clement currently reigning in Spain as Real Madrid assistant coach .
Unfortunately, or fortunately which ever way you view it, this is a definite runner, if you cast your mind back to when Sousa left, Jenkins tried his hardest to get Graeme Jones here, but he felt he was not ready, so Rodgers got the job, and I'm sure that with the poor season we are having, Jones will be top of Jenkins shopping list...................
I am not on about any rumor whether its true or not but i do know that jinx wants graeme jones as our next manager as he has always been jinx's no1 option and if he is now ready for the job then i would get him in sooner than later whether its after the cardiff game or where we will be playing next season. ML is not going to change or look as if he is bothered if we stay up or not. He is leaving whatever happens.
Sorry but I can't see Jones leaving Everton mid season and they have an outside chance of being in the Champions League next year. Ironically I remember his Wife wasn't keen on going to Wigan but he is from up there I think. The Club will want to see the season out and then a dignified exit for ML.
dignified He don't deserve dignified if we lose or draw against cardiff....He deserves sod all but his bus fair home...
If the board is honestly considering getting rid of ML, then they should've done it in Jan and supported the new man in the transfer window. I think I, as well as a few others, hoped for 7 points from the next 12 points available. A win and a crappy loss seems to have turned this place upside down. I'm still not sure we should panic just yet....although I'll admit that if we lose to Cardiff, with another gutless performance I'll be concerned. However, it's not all ML to blame....the players need to take a good look at themselves and play like professionals, because some of the sure as he'll didn't on Saturday.
The next few games will define our season anyway. A run of defeats and we are in the crap. That's why if ML had to go, he should have gone in Dec or Jan to give a new guy some time. Changing now would be crazy. ML can get us through this, and I believe he will. I know many on here will not agree and that is fine. The performance yesterday alarmed the strongest of ML supporters so god knows how his detractors felt. We have a difficult few games ahead, and I don't think we should blink first. It's time everyone pulled in the same direction (board, players, manager and fans) and put relegation fears aside. Starting Saturday, I'd like to see a leader on the pitch grab the game by the b@&&s and lead us to a much needed win against the reds.
Yes Dai, I am, and a real fan to boot. Maybe not as long as you, but it's been one team for me for 36 yrs and counting
I'll assume my dream of a good , clean 2nd half of the season to lure Laudrup for another season is pretty well dead in the water . I one asked will this fantastic rise ever end , it just can't keep going . Well it's on the verge , it's written all over Laudrups face . Gave him lots of money for players and nickel and dimed him in the media at most opportunities. Not sure if Laudrup will leave at the end of the season or before but when he does walk , he won't look back . Jenkins overstepped in his criticism through the media of Laudrup , giving journalists the grey area they need to do stories like this .
No my opinion does not count but my best mate jinx's opinion counts though and we are in the same ball park..
you cant blame the board when there is a matter of £70 million plus at stake. The manager gets well paid to make sure we dont get in this position let alone relegated. ML has been a big failure on what the club and what the fans were saying before the season started and any other club would have got rid long ago....Laudrup is just passing through and he is not bigger than the club as that must be the be all and end all...Do you think for one moment that ML will give us a second thought when he does go?? Of course he wont, He had never heard of us before he came and he has installed in the players that we are a small club that shouldn't be beating the big sides, Our players confidence has hit rock bottom because they have no encouragement to perform and they go into a match not expecting to win but to do their best.....We are better than that and all it needs is a good leader to motivate the players that is not happening at the moment. They are even arguing with each other in training and during the match....that is not a sign of a team that is in focus and know what they are doing which ever way you look at it..
