Could see a minimum return of three points over there games......think Arsenal could be the one to get a full three points from so it could be more. This would be a huge step to the 40 point mark. Getting the feeling these games are right up Gus's street.....the master tactician!!!
We're now winning games we should really lose and the tactics have a lot to do with that ........ games like Everton away were beyond us pre-GP.
He has us playing pass, pass, pass....where we don't give the ball away so much. Give the ball away against the top teams and more often than not you get destroyed
The difference in 'passing equating to confidence' was perfectly clear yesterday. Sunderland's confidence grew as they kept the ball and could relax. Newcastle's hoof tactics simply gave us the ball, almost every time, and put them under the kind of pressure they couldn't handle.
I don't expect points but believe we can take some from these games. I hope we press them cause if we sit too deep I can't see us getting anything. We've got confidence so there's no reason why we can't take the game to them and some decent results.
Totally agree but after putting away Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea this season plus that team from yesterday whatever there name was I feel we can go into these games with a lot more confidence. Getting the three points of Hull will be the key to going into these games with a bit more freedom.....Gus's last words for the lads before they disappear down the tunnel in these games....."faints hearts win f**k all"......
Would love to see them taking the game to these teams...since Wes Brown has come in plus Bardo returning to form...not to mention the brilliance of Alonso...we can push forward with confidence. Defending from the front is also key....I don't think their defenders will want to push up to far and leave a certain AJ unattended
We can go into these games with no fear as we have nothing to lose. Man City will be under a lot of pressure to beat us as they will want to put us "in our place"before the final, this could play into our hands. We have a chance in every game now as we are scoring goals and the team is confident
Think you're getting a bit carried away mate. We're on a fantastic run but we all need to keep a firm head. A win against any of them would be awesome but the odds obviously are against it. 3 points out of those 3 games will be a great result and anyone out of the top 6 would say the same. Out of the top 4 you get your points where you can and if you get points from them ( as we have against City) they're a bonus.
I know what your saying but looking at it I think we are playing too well to get nothing from these games. I think the lads are having a 'taste' for these games now. City, Arsenal and Liverpool will be in a situation like we were against Stoke and obviously Hull where they have to win. Even the top teams find it not that easy anymore. Maybe Gus should employ 19th century football tactics in these games.....
Any team is capable of beating any other team on their day. Stoke proved it yesterday just as we've done it against City, and arguably away against Everton too. But you don't go into these games assuming 1, 2, 3 or more points are there for the taking. These are bonus points. But you're right, we are playing well against "better teams" so like you, I see us walking away with something from these 3 games. I'm just not sure how many, nor against who. All 3 games will have their opportunities. But the fact is, we must take points against these or we could be back in the bottom 3 before we know it. The great thing is, at the minute, we're ****ing hard to beat. And we haven't been able to say that for a long time!
Spot on assessment. We need 3 points out of Hull just in case we don't get anything out of the City/Dipper/Arse games.
Hopefully get to Arsenal. We've nothing to lose from those games which I can only see being a good thing, we'll play with freedom and confidence and who knows? They'll be extremely tough games but if we play well anything could happen. Lets not forget how we nearly beat Man City, at the etihad, in their title winning season
