    1. Why were we in the yellow strip yesterday as we have played at SJP recently in our traditional Red Stripes.
    2. Why didn't the linesman flag for the penalty when he was stood less than 10 yards from the incident ( I know Phil Dowd gave his decision pretty quickly but the linesman never batted an eyelid).
    Anybody got an answer.

    1) Great for me, I'm colour blind and watched on a jerky stream.

    2) The ref gave him no time, he blew before Bardsley hit the deck.

The officials work as a team and I think the ref can instruct the assistants on what decisions he wants them to flag for e.g. Just flag for offsides and throws or do fouls as well. The ref can still consult if he has doubt/requires input etc.

Would this lead to discrepancies if one ref wants his assistants to do one thing and another ref does it differently?

Me as well mate, in fact by the time Krul got his hand to Jacks shot, the next picture was the ball being placed in the center circle. Managed to watch the highlights on SAFSEE this morning though. Get in Jonno son.

It's actually the clubs decision which kit to wear, only if their is a perceived clash does it become the referees decision. I did wonder myself. I put it down to the fact we don't have a white shorts option this season.

On the linesman, they are instructed only to flag for 'refereeing' decisions if the referee doesn't first make the decision. So, if the ref gives it, the lino doesn't need to flag.

Quite possibly mate, as there is a clash when we only have black shorts, he maybe stepped in.

I don't care if we wear a kit with a massive hairy penis on the back if we win the game.

I prefer us wearing our away strip as I'm colour blind too and I can hardly tell who is who when we both play in stripes.

    Long may it continue.

Absolutely mate. Me too. The club, according to the radio, were quite miffed by the refs request

We don't have them mate, in previous years we have had white shorts as part of training kit, and as such had access to them.

This years training gears is blue, so we haven't the option.

Bear in mind we have a huge contract with Adidas, you can't just hoy anything on!

Not a case of rustling them up, it's a case of Adidas supplying them.

Which may well have had something to do with wearing the yellow of the first place! If Adidas had wanted us to wear white shorts, we'd have worn them, but then the yellow shirts would have less exposure.

The bottom line here though is that it's down to the referee's discretion, which is **** - either there's a colour clash, or there isn't!
