Just seen Carroll's sending off against Swansea today which just sums up the lengths Chico Flores will go to the cheating maggot. Will Howard Webb rescind the card? Will the FA take retrospective action against Flores? Or are the lunatics running the football asylum?

My brother did once - he lived in Leeds for a few years in the 70's. He has paid his dues now though - was transported to Botany Bay over 30 years ago....

So, no extended pub openning for the World Cup then. Pub landlords asked for extensions for England v Italy 14/6/14 k.o. 11pm and the finals in July.
I wonder if the Govenment would be so unsympathetic if it was the Rugby Union World Cup?

Government would not give a blanket extended pub opening to every pub. Instead pubs that want to stay open will have to request it from the local licensing authority, which is normal. Hopefully the well run establishments will get their extensions and those that continually serve drunk trouble makers will be refused.
I cannot understand for the life of me who would want to stay up after 11.00 PM to watch that load of crap though and spend beer vouchers doing it - sheer madness.

Exactly - but those late starts do bring one question to mind. Why is it that the kick-off times, and even the days of, our League matches are at the whim of Sky and their programme schedulers, yet if we want to watch a World Cup match we have to do so in the middle of the bloody night?

What I love about supporting an English football team that is ruining the sport in the country of footballs creation is to see Manchester City and Chelsea with three English players on the field between the teams and four more as substitutes. Only one of all the 36 players came from either of the two clubs' youth divisions, John Terry.

Good point - not many seem to complain about it as that's in the Premier league which is the "greatest league in the world"

Trouble is most clubs don't trust young English players anymore as they aren't technically as good and sadly a lot think they've made it at 18 earning their first pro contract so don't bother to put the work in.

You'll be ok - their bubble has burst... <ok>

Spotted this joke about City online this morning -

A guy spotted a Man City season ticket nailed to a tree after their defeat, and thought to himself "I'll have that - you can never have enough nails." Boom boom...

Especially as they have the "Western End of The M4 Derby" looming on Saturday - Malky to take over anyone?

KP dumped by the ECB, how daft is that! He should go to the world cup at least and I'm sure he has a few more years in him as well. Stinks of the establishment.
