Agree, i was fuming wathcing them make no effort. All of them looked disinterested, WB was chasing balls infact had more possession after they scored, i thought we'd keep pushing for the win, but we kept hoofing the ball forward and barely constructed any meaningful play forward. Atleast ****ing try! i remember when Arsenal went one down at WestHam, they came back with waves of Pressure. All top side would do that. We showed no ****ing effort, thats what pissed me the most. We ain't going to win **** with that mentality. No ****ing urgency what so ever.
Even in the first half Toure was shouting at the team that no one was giving him an option The whole team was poor today #noscapegoats
Agree, but their dump of a pitch and persistent professional fouling made our normal game more difficult too
Gerrard sat too deep to cover for the wobbly likes of kolo and cissokho. Henderson too deep as well as a result of that, making few runs forward, not supporting Coutinho enough.
My ratings: Ming: 6 Great save, **** distribution. Flanagan: 6 Was he injured - again? Skrtel: 5 Was made to look better than he was by his CB partner. Toure: 2 Total ****. Cissokho: 5 Is improving. No threat on the ball though. Gerrard: 5 better first half than second. Henderson: 5 Flitted in and out and is playing more like Joe Allen than Joe Allen. Sterling: 7 Everywhere, but that pass to Studge needed more composure. Coutinho: 5 Again, good first half, anonymous second. Studge: 6 Took his goal well but we couldn't get him into the game. Suarez: 6 Set up the goal well, missed his self-made opportunity then got into a running battle with Jacob. Overall, mediocre and shades of the Hull away game, and the Newcastle game too.
That's what we didn't do, and we lost a great opportunity to increase the gap to those below us. I don't know what BR says to our players, but we always perform against the top teams, then play awfully the next. Does he get complacent? He needs to fire them up every game because there are no easy games in this league on the day. Annoyed at how limp that performance was.
I would say the all should be fined one weeks wages to be donated to charity. they earned nothing today. they've thrown away any hope of a win and were back passing most of the day. there's no such thing as 2 points dropped but today LFC didn't deserve the one point they earned. opportunity thrown away. the big time charlies will be trying v arsenal which is f'n typcial and why lfc are always also rans
That's true. If Pool get top4 (and I still think they will) it wont be on the back of their away form which has been average (W4D4L4) but on the consistently good home form (only city and Chavs better). Spurs will be the Europa soon and unless Sherwood throws it, that will be a hassle Everton are still battling but their squad is stretched. Utd are 7 points behind. You are still in the top4 and this result is far from the end of world!!
We're a different side at home. Everyone who's watched us this season should know that. EDIT: What AndyI said.
That performance was flaccid to say the least. Always the same a fantastic performance is followed by a below par showing.
That's how I saw it. I thought the Allen change was right though more effort than craft as Coutinho wasn't getting anywhere.
I'll rate the whole team : 1 Because that's all we got from the game 1 point! That game should have been a stroll in the park. We should now be shouting that the next match can't be as easy as that was! I'm not letting Toure off with what he did but did anybody see our midfield or forwards busting a gut to even try and get into the box in the 2nd half? Coutinho may as well have stayed in the dressing room for the 2nd half! The ONLY player who I believe has a good game was Sterling.
So drab display after brilliant result? Typical Liverpool. Saw Kolo's pass, How did he not see Anichebe?
We are where we are this season because of many factors, and I for one am glad of our improvement, our ability to miss the woodwork unlike last season, our battling SAS that frequently seem to get a goal or three, our looking down at the new paupers of Manchester. All in all its been a rollercoaster ride and despite today's result we're still in the mix for a top 4 spot, a point away from home is better than none(ask the 3 amigos from utd or the spuds), keep the faith red brothers.
Pass Accuracy: Sterling 79% Henderson 78% Suarez 73% Coutinho 67% Mignolet 59% Cissokho 58% Kelly 50% That's dedication to giving the ball away.
Possibly the angriest I've been after a match. Even at 1-0, it was possibly one of our worst performances to date. Our play in the final 3rd was abysmal - everyone struggled with the final ball. Having said that, we still scored a goal and yet again, we failed to defend the lead. There is one stat floating around which sums us up - LFC have made 29 errors which have led to shots/goals - this highest in the league. Individual errors continue to cost us and it won;t be resolved until we have a better midfield and full backs. Lethargic, lazy performance - we had around 30 mins to get a winner but we didn't even look close. We had a real chance to really build a lead over our rivals and we bottled it. Our midfield cannot control a match and take it by the scruff of the neck, at least on a consistent basis. I still cannot believe we pursued an attacking midfielder instead of a defensive midfielder in January. EDIT: In addition, as poor as Coutinho was, he is still the only link we have between attack and midfield, and we lose a lot of creativity without him. Further evidence that SAS and Coutinho are carrying this team. Pretty much everyone behind them bar Sakho, Mignolet and a Henderson )who doesn;t bottle when Gerrard plays) all need replcing.
Spot on, jimmy. I think though that strength and structure flow from a confident back four, as they allow the CM pair press forward and link more freely with the attack.
