......becomes the first player to score premier league goals for 7 different teams (was going to say clubs but that might have been taken out of context).
Good on him - shows that he's as much respect for those fans who booed Whitts as I have (ie none), and he's not going to allow idiots to have their say without a response. If we don't stop this sort of behaviour we'll end up like the moaning whinging London types. Top bloke Bellers - well done.
must say i agree the fans who booed the team are a disgrace, but dont agree with that response from bellamy......
I do he was clearly upset about the Whitts incident. A section of our fans were a disgrace today. Whittingham has given years of service been our player of the year and deserves respect.
Agreed he is having a tough time and confidence is shot but he has been a star for us on many occasions and has earned our respect. Time to give him a break from the firing line to recharge his batteries. Brave move by OGS to sub him at that time. MM and DJ would have waited until the hour mark at least. It was a game changer. OGS greeted Whitts and shook his hand as he left the pitch. Very professionally done.
Just saw Bellamy on match of the day. He didn't mention Whitts, but did have a pop at the fans. At this stage of the sseason we need to give the team as much support as we can however they play.
I think Bellamy could have been more diplomatic, but it isn't his way I guess. Whitts was terrible and deserved to be subbed, but he didn't deserve to get booed, it can bring the whole team ethos down something like that.
As much as I disagree with the booing, Whitts hasn't been up to standard. Disagree with Bellamy's "celebration" telling the fans to "f*** off w******" isn't professional. Not all the fans booed! As much as I was glad Ole subbed him I completely disagree with any form of booing towards a player wearing the shirt (unless his name is Warren Feeney )
