should we be cashing in on leon best while his stock is high?

he strung a decent goals to games ratio together off the back of his west ham hat trick but at times he didn't look to be at our level.

should we be flogging him to some aspiring championship or newly promoted team while he's enjoying a reputation of being a moderatly successful newcastle striker?

£3m or something? would represent good value. however if we punt ranger he might be needed for cover...

No. Daft idea. He's a good back-up striker. If we sell him we'll just need to bring in another striker to make sure we have attacking depth. What's the point?

 

no way ashley will sell him, probably on rubbish wages, doesn't gob off too much, so fits the mould. From a personal point of view he did alright last season when he got going

 

No, even if we buy 2 new strikers then he would atleast be back up. I always backed him to do well when he moved here and I think when he had a run in the team it showed he could play at this level. His chest control is amazing, which in turn means his holod up play is good. His heading is pretty good and add that to his good leap! I would keep unless we get a large bid for him, say £7m I would probably sell but nothing less than that.

Also we should be looking to sell Loven and Ameobi before attempting to sell Best.

 

Strikers are one thing we're desperately short of, we can't think of moving any on until we bring some new faces in.

 

i wouldn't sell loven. he's a decent cover striker and can do a job down the left if needed. one good thing i suppose about best is that i can't see him being too disruptive if he's not starting every week i suppose.

 

Keep hold of Best as a squad player and sell Lovenkrands once a replacement is signed (i.e. Ba).

If at all possible sell Shola but we have a past record of finding that nigh on impossible.

 

Won't really need Loven for the left though, if we get N'Zog, Barnetta and keep Jonas. Big IF mind.

 

I think if Ashley was able to sell the ground, Shola would be included in the price.

Best is our BEST striker(no pun), why would we sell him? If we are going to sell one of our strikers it has to be either Ameobi or Lovenkrands who are getting on/past it & really aren't PL quality, atleast Best can still improve & prove himself to be a decent PL player who can be on the bench & start the odd game(if we get in the likes of Erdinc/Ba).

Lovenkrands is finished, Ameobi is.... well Ameobi, plus his contract is up end of the year, we are potentially getting rid of Ranger..... We definately should keep hold of Best

Get in Ba and Erdinc and hopefully one more striker, Elmander for nowt? Throw some money at Sturridge? Conor Whickham maybe although whether he could make a contribution straight away???

Once we get another 3 or 4 in then i would look to offload Lovenkrands and Shola, they go for free end of the year anyway. Give the likes of Donaldson, Vuckic etc some game time off the bench. Maybe pick up a loanee for more cover?
