Fulham are 100% going down despite their new signings I think.. maybe Cardiff as well, but that final spot is concerning. I could honestly see six or seven teams in the mix to go down on the final day, including us. We just have to hope Norwich are in the **** then as well as they have a horrendous draw, but we have Everton on the final day. Bloody hope we can beat them.

I think we will be fine. We arnt a top 4 team so a decline or dry spell was inevitable at some point in the season. Hopefully today was us begining to come out of it but if not we will soon. I still think we will finish around 15th.

I predicted 16th at the start of the season, I still think that's around where we'll end up. Mid-season has flattered us, but a couple of 1-0's where we got lucky penalties have flattered us, we're about good enough for 12-16th.

    No way will Villa go.
Said all along Sunderland and West Ham won't go down, and they won't.
It will be Fulham, Norwich and one other.
I thought Palace were nailed on, but it looks like they will be ok (incredible turn around) unless their bubble bursts.
So, it's the 'one other' slot that's worrying me.
Too many City fans were getting far too carried away earlier. Make no mistake, we're in a right relegation battle.
The other slot is between us, Palace, Swansea, Stoke, Cardiff and West Brom. I'm not sure we're any better than any of them, but equally no worse. Maybe West Brom could be the dark horses to fall as the straight approaches.

We'll be as safe as houses. Our home form will see us through.

This. We haven't really played poorly all season and our worst result (and only loss of more than 2 goals) was 4-1.

Sorry but we've had far more refereeing decisions go against us than for us. We got two soft penalties early in the season from a defender's point of view but they were penalties, that's what happens if you push someone over in the area, even if the ball is in the air. Games against United, Tottenham, Everton, Palace, Swansea off the top of my head were hugely turned against us by bad refereeing decisions and we really could be 5-6 points better off were it not for those. Add to that the luck that has gone against us in the last two games in terms of the bounce of the ball and it's clear we've played a lot better than our league position suggests, even with some of our best players missing for half the season.

    Agreed mate.

I think we can still get points from West Ham, Villa, Sunderland etc, but they should stay up.

If City get 17th i'll be well happy.

You've only won one of your last 5 at home haven't you?

Exactly, I keep saying to mates that say how well we're doing that we should be doing much better. The right decisions being made against Everton (Barry putting Aluko out for half the season then scoring an offside goal), Spurs away (Elmo's non-handball pen), Palace (Long pen), United (incessant diving) and a few other games would have seen us much higher in the table. We have been very unfortunate this year.

You don't know what you're on about. You're obviously just trying to be a ****. Aren't you meant to quite old? What a sad way for a grown man to spend his time.

If you're on about our game against you, at the KC, in December, we were 1-0 and playing you off the park before the two sendings off. One was harsh granted.

You caused your own downfall that game.

    Nope.

Cattermole was being a dirty **** as always. Could have hurt Elmo. It was a shocking challenge, made to look a bit better by Elmo being in midair when he did it. If Elmo's leg was planted it would have been horrible.

That's the most surprising thing. He says his avatar is his kids. If my old man spent his Saturday night arguing on a football forum, I'd be embarrassed.

If you Sunderland fans aren't going to offer anything to the football debate please **** off. Give examples of where we have been lucky? If you are talking about our game at home then Cattermole was correctly sent off as it was extremely reckless and if Elmo hadn't have jumped out of the way his ankle would have been shattered. As for the Dossena tackle it's one of the worst I've ever seen and could have ended Meyler's career

You're spending your time calling me a **** then start pontificating how a grown man should behave, ffs.

That's all for tonight, see you soon <ok>

Poyet is a great manager - Sunderland were always going to improve swapping a lunatic for a quality manager. I can see Poyet managing a big 6 club in the next few years

I'll be happy with finishing 17th on goal difference, don't give a **** as long as we have three teams below us after 38 games.

Our strikers are better than Sunderland's but they have the best winger in Johnson. Defence-wise I think it's even. Poyet's had a positive effect on them. They're in form but I think they've played Newcastle at just the right time, the Toon having lost their best player (Cabaye) and best striker out (Remy)

Will be tough, I'd take a point.
