In way way Dave. I agree blaming him for the too goal is impossible. We simply turned off. He's also not to blam for our failure to take our chances late on. However it to OGS 30 minute to realise that we had no pace and brought on Zaha who changed Cardiff massively, they started getting behind our defence. Then there was a 40 minute gap where we persisted trying to grind the play like what's been. Redmond should have come in at half time (well he should have started but that's beside the point) to counter the pace and stretch the game. The subs at the end showed what we could do. Leroy started running the mid with Tettey clearing up behind. Today Whist generally good play from us Hughton lost a battle of tactics with OGS. He changed the game. Hughton failed to respond.
Fantastic win today boys, great performance, clean sheet, top goalscorer hitting 15 for the season, entertaining but balanced style of play, and really pushing the top teams all the way. Oh **** wrong board!!
I definitely agree about Poyet bringing out the best in player but I personally think that Sunderland could have gotten me in and I'd make a better job of it than Di Canio. To defend Hughton on the lineup; Before half time we had the lead and while Cardiff had stepped up their game they hadn't really tested Ruddy. He sent them back out, we again looked to be getting somewhere, then we capitulated for 2 minutes. Hughton should have made the changes sooner but I argue that he isn't at fault for the 2 goals we conceded. That is squarely on the players shoulders for me.
Did Bellamy celebrate his goal? Sometimes the old school don't celebrate out of respect and all that...
yes, short term the 2 goals are entirely the players fault. Long term the form and performance of the players are the managers fault.
I think Bellers has celebrated every goal he scored against us. I wish he'd just stop getting the goals!
A little message to all you burying your heads in he sand inners it seems that if you think things are going to get better it shows you ALL know absolutely jack **** about how much crap we're in. The reason why we didn't bin this clueless twat in December is going to haunt this club for years to come when we go down in May and I for one will be spoon feeding humble pie to you all ! Hughton out save our club!
I also agree with this but fear that CH still doesn't know his best starting XI for any given game. We could argue that team that finished the game today should start the game next week, or the week after but I doubt it will happen.
Same old story. Get one up, take foot of gas, collapse defensively, put subs on late and hope to get a draw. Another hard luck story. Should of won blah, blah, blah.....
Unfortunately for them, to go 1-0 up against a bottom three team, and then lose 2-1 takes a little more than 'bad luck'
Personally I think that the style is certainly his fault, and not one I like. However, the whole time Hughton has been here he has had to deal with over expectations, championship players, resulting in a big change of players plus the come down from the 3 incredible years under Lambert. I'd say he has done a mediocre-to-good job, he has kept us competing in an incredibly tough division. You have to remember how small a club Norwich is compared to pretty much every other team in this league. Even Cardiff have a bigger fan base, more money, a bigger stadium etc. I think any manager that would have come in would have struggled and even someone who went all out like Lambert might have then gotten us relegated. I judge managers at the end of seasons so Hughton has until then to turn things round. Maybe we go down, maybe we don't, I believe Hughton can still keep us up. The whole manager sacking business is something I don't like and I think transfer windows for managers would be good.
As much as im p***ed off with today result i have just given myself a reality check, just looked at the table and Stoke.... 1 point above us and 4 places! stoke havent been setting the world alight lately, 1 result and the table can swing enormously...
To stay up we have got to : A. Score goals( more than the opposition) B. stop conceding stupid goals At the moment we are doing neither your statements hold about as much water as a rusty old pale !
agreed, we will keep hughton till summer now. The odds are heavily stacked against us yes, but that means we more than any team need a manager who can get the most out of our meagre resources. I think we see panic from many fans about hughton, not because they have unrealistic expectations for the team, but because they know precisely how narrow our margin for error is, and they see a manager who is not instilling confidence that he can maximise our potential to keep us on the right side of that line.
Exactly. This has been a weird season and if we somehow beat ManC next week we'll be level on points with Villa who are in 10th. All these "outers" seem to lose their heads when we lose. You don't like Hughton, so the loss is his fault and he should go. Oh the team won? Well then he has until we lose again, then he has to go.
Man City will tear you apart...seriously, I'd think that Hughton will park the bus and hope to keep deficit in single figures.
If we somehow beat Man City, for crying out loud!!! What will happen is we will get hammered by City and the week after also be " hammered" . It is not a weird season we are just not good enough at the moment and look a relegated side to me already.
