Since the end of last season which may I say I thought Sven and the boys did extremely well compared to where we were when he and the new owners took control of the club, we just ran out of steam at the wrong time and our purple patch evidently came too soon.

Since then we have seen comments from representatives of the club itself and some annoying comments from the Leicester Mercury saying "There is no Limit" Sven has been told to "do what is necessary" to achieve the owner's the manager's the players and most of all the Leicester fans dream to reach the prem once again. How much of this is true? it seems sometimes we are led to believe that money is no issue but it clearly is when reports coming out of the club saying "Naughton is out of our price range" and "Yakubu's wages are proving a stumbling block"

We are now 2 weeks away from pre-season and we have signed er! No-one. I realise these negotiations take time to come to fruition but surely we must be close to signing some quality before pre-season in time to get the team to gel. I must say it is obvious we wont get Kyle back, BIG LOSS. Other than the YAK and KAMARA and MAYNARD the names which have been linked to our club do not excite me at all especially another 38 year old has been keeper.

What are other peoples thoughts and frustrations at what apparantley seems to be a slow motion approach to making a few signings considering Fazackerley stated (Mid May) the club wants SWIFT and clinical signings in the transfer market.

    UP YOU FOXES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haveto agree, it doesn't look as though we are going to be pushing for promotion anytime soon

    Sofar:
o We are having trouble with the Yak, who seems to have either U-Turned on us, or the club aren't prepared to pay his wages.
o Havn't heard a sniff of a solid centre back, so it looks like Hobbs will be staying with us, and playing with Tunch and Bamba.
o Theres been no news on Kamara since he has left.
o Changes in staff that have no doubt slowed down/stalled the buying process. This may be why there were no swift buys. AND EVEN AS I WRITE THIS THERES FURTHER CHANGES! http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2376927,00.html
o We have no right backs, apart from Robbie Neilson
o Our left backs (Berner and Kennedy) don't seem to fit Svens role of overlapping fullbacks

Its just frustrating that most other clubs have had some kind of report about people they are looking into, either on BBC, SkySports or some other official source, yet all is quiet at the Walkers, during a summer where they should be buying a promotion winning side.

Everyone seems frustrated at the lack of signings, but when you look around there isn't much going on at other clubs, bar West Ham. I expect once we get one in, we'll get quite a few come through the door.

As for the finances, there has to be a limit on what the owners will spend. The Yak is not worth 36k a week, he scored some goals but lots came in the same games, and he missed a lot of chances too. Add to that he looked slow/lazy/overweight and needed dropping to get a reaction; I wouldn't be too disappointed if we didn't get him. I expect Sven has his eye on a few other players we’re unaware of.

Let's hope that the people at lcfc have now realised that if you go out and say "WE'RE RICH" the price goes up considerably, so publicly stating we can't afford to spend silly money could keep asking prices (wages & transfer fees) realistic.

You'd have hoped that as businessmen that they'd know that already though....

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. Ok, bricking it. I certainly have big doubts about whether we will be going up next season and some of the activity from other Clubs, such as Ipswich and West Ham, worries me.

On the other hand, we still have almost 3 months to buy players. Don't panic.

My concern is we seem to be being turned down by many of our targets. We'll be apparently after someone and then it will be 'unlikely' or 'talks have broken down'. We do need to spend money so I hope we have got as much as we are led to believe.

Anyway, we've signed Nugent and he'll be unveiled within the next week. Will everyone calm down then? :)

My feeling has always been that we will have a fortnight where we make 6 or 7 signings, all in time for pre-season. I think next week may be the start of that fortnight. We are obviously in talks with players and agents, but sensibly we aren't willing to pay silly wages in the second division, so some of these players and agents are talking to other clubs, who may or may not be willing to offer higher wages than we are. I imagine we have already been turned down several times by greedy agents who expected us to be paying way over the odds, so it could be that Sven has had to draw up another list of players, some of whom won't be the big name players we were expecting and may now be fellow Championship players (not a bad thing IMO). But I am absolutely certain that Sven, Top, Susan and co are working flat out for good players on affordable wages and I for one am not worried in the slightest and have the patience of a saint....
