Excellent win for Cardiff, and some resolute defending, we have our work cut out next week for sure!.................
Plastic is An in the groove swan fan that doesn't like this board , been hiding in the weeds but has decided it's time to let lose . Lot of bitterness behind the posts now lol , worth the price of admission. Getting fun now . No grit or focus on that team , expect a totally different display next game .
Sunderland now on the same points as us? Didn't take Poyet long to get them out of the drop zone did it, and to think Ki is up there helping them, with Borini?
I know i keep getting slagged off about my stance on laudrups ability as a manager. I usually say same old same old and i have to say it again, Here we have another dominant display of 65% only this time we had Zero shots on target and west ham who were not that good had a messily 35% possession and had 4 chances on target that produced 2 goals and 3 points. ....Now im not being funny here but this scenario has been happening all season and half of last season and i cant understand how some fans cant see it.....I wont apologize for my stand on laudrup out because i dont find him and never have found him a manager who is capable of top league football and its because of his idea of a game plan and tactics that is so predictable are so easy for teams to play against even if the team has been on a bad run themselves...I just hope we can survive the season as it will be touch and go as long as laudrup is the manager.....3 points dropped again..
The way things are looking Dai, it is you who will be getting the apologies if we keep playing like this
Well I'm sure that losing £70 Million will get our Board and Chairman focused Dai, think Laudrup could well be in the last chance saloon, we are clueless in front of goal! If Cardiff win next week and take 6 points of us, then Laudrup has had it in my view, whatever your view of his football is!...................
Yes WH have been on a bad run. Today they had Carroll back and anyone with a football brain could see the impact he had. He was quality in the air and showed his worth today. I've said it before but I believe we lack leadership on the pitch. We do not have a player that seems able to read the game and take it by the scruff of the neck when needed...I mean why the heck did we continue trying aimless crosses when the defense was stacked with 3 central defenders. Anyway, like most I'm disappointed, but will not call for MLs head just yet.
Andy Carroll is a slugger bug of the highest order, if we can't follow repeated instruction from Laudrup to close him down, then we deserve to go down!...... Mark Hughes Stoke go above us beating Manu?
Is this the same Andy Carroll who played against other clubs and west ham lost...that Andy Carroll you mean... If you would stop trying to find all sorts of excuses for laudrup then you might be able to see that he has lost us a minimum of 15 points this season with his one and only game plan and tactics he knows that any other team would have sacked him by now......We are living dangerously and its such a shame with the players we have. A good manager with that lot would be challenging for a European place by now..
Dai That's what cheeses me off the most, the amount of possession we have against any team, but still fail to put it into serious attempts on goal. That's what disappoints me the most about Laudrup's reign, for all his attacking prowess as a player, he was someone I immensely admired in his day. His team, as in ours, is for the most part, clueless as an attacking threat!!! I fear what this board will be like next Saturday, if we lose to our bitterest rivals. I think a few Jacks will turn full circle...
I've given Dai some stick at times for his Laudrup bashing, but IF we lose next week I'll be apologising and saying he was right. We looked no better than a pub team today.
I'm keeping my powder dry until next week, but if Laudrup don't motivate this useless bunch of gutless pansies, then I'm with Dai!................
I've got a solution to the Andy Carroll problem. We buy Brede Hangeland from Fulham and play him twice a year to deal with Carroll. Carroll = 6' 3". Hangeland = 6' 6". Problem solved.
We played some great football today but we do that in every single game tbh. Our problem is there is no variation and teams just bide their time for that one mistake that is bound to happen when you have so much possession for them to strike. You notice the difference when we play any big sides and the possession is much more distributed, We get forward more and get the ball in the box more and we look as if we can win. When we get much less possession it stops us showboating and more chances at goal... Its crazy..
Despite a number of disappointing results, we have rarely performed this poorly. Selection was not great and again the mistake of not having Ki in squad exposed. Rubbish defending for goals. But again ref determined not to give us a penalty which, without making excuses may have changed the game.
Anyone who has read my posts know that I am not a Laudrup knocker but having just returned from watching that game I am slowly changing my opinion. Most fans at the match thought Leon was left out because of injury when it transpired it was a tactical selection playing Amat to combat West Ham ariel power I was staggered. This is a team that has not scored a headed goal all season, so why. Secondly if you do make a midfield switch to gain height advantage then first and foremost that player needs to be a mid fielder not a centre back. It was the worst display of the season with players bickering with each other throughout the game. We didn't manage one shot on target despite playing 10 men for the last half hour against a team in the relegation slot. A few weeks back the bookies were offering odds of 20-1 for Swansea going down, those odds have now been slashed to 5-1 that tells you a story on its own. Believe me after this performance relegation is more than a possibility.
