I am similarly at a loss to understand how everyone thought West Ham were going to be easy away from home.
Ideally, don't really want to see Laudrup getting sacked to be honest. But it might need to come to that, to arrest the slide in not only our position, but also in our football. A lot of the time since the league cup final it's been pretty awful & it doesn't look like changing any time soon... Worse than that, Jason f@ckin Perry is happy at the moment...
I'm afraid this was more of a great West Ham display that most want to ignore . Not to worried , cheers
Since Dec 9 - against bottom half teams 6 points from 5 matches (1 win, 3 draws, 1 loss). against top half teams lost all 5. So that's 6 points from 10 matches. That will get us relegated. People keep talking about getting points from teams in bottom half, but 6 from 5 matches isn't goo enough if we lose all the others. We have average 0.6 points per match last 10. By hey, let's carry on and hope for the best. Not a knee jerk reaction to today, but a reaction to what's happened over the last couple of months and longer.
Shocking results lately? Lost to Man Utd, Man City (twice) Spurs, Chelsea and Everton. Since Dec 1st. Yes truly awful.
Think its safe to say we truely are in the ****, and if we play like this next week then Laudrup has to f**k off for me. Gutless, leaderless, passionless from players and the bench - PATHETIC
Don't think anyone thought it was going to be easy. But let's be honest, if we really think we're going to get out of this precarious position we really needed at least a point!!! The most worrying thing for me was not so much the loss, but how toothless we were!! Twenty attempts on goal & not one on target. Believe me, that's worrying mate!!
That's the point isn't it. Nothing will be easy from now on. Cardiff - difficult. away to Stoke - difficult. Any top team - forget it. Who does that leave to get points against? It's always excuses. We only lost because they were top teams, so what did you expect. West Ham was tough, so what do you expect. Excuses, all of them. Other teams in bottom half have done much better than us lately. But don't worry, because we'll beat the easy teams. Except there aren't any. We couldn't beat Hull, Norwich, Villa or West Ham. But what did we expect. From what many fans keep saying I expected to win them. Wait until we play the lower teams they kept saying. Well, I waited and waited and waited, but it didn't happen. Apart from Fulham. One win in 10. Let's rejoice.
Who was the eloquent WUM from a year or two back? I think it was Bangkok Swan who became Black Swan? Reminds me of plasticfan. Certainly not Dai, though.
There is nothing wrong in losing to teams like that. But not a single point is pretty bad. Most teams manage a few points here and there against them. You forgot to mention the lower teams that we couldn't beat either.
Contrary to belief, West Ham were actually trying to win the game. Some seem to think that this game was a match we should win without breaking sweat. The biggest disappointment for me was that we knew West Ham would just kick the ball into the area at every chance from every position and we still couldn't come to terms with it.
This , we played into West Hams plan , we know how they play and their method and we just didn't deal wit it , poor decision making and performances .
Have to say that Marshall has made two fantastic saves to keep Cardiff ahead, some real pressure from Norwich!...............
