Newcastle’s defeat to local rivals Sunderland left one Magpies fan so livid he tried to give his season ticket to manager Alan Pardew.

Sunderland earned their second victory of the campaign over Pardew’s men this afternoon, with a 3-0 reverse at St. James’ Park, leaving Newcastle fans to vent their fury.

And one fan was so incensed at the heavy loss he ran onto the pitch in an attempt to confront Pardew and hand over his season ticket.

It was an expensive act though, as not only can a season ticket for Newcastle cost up to £722, but the supporter was also arrested, having been led away from the pitch by stewards.

What was the crack with the mag who ran onto the pitch and took the free kick? The stream didn't show it but the radio commentators were laughing at him.

Do they like grassy fields so much because horses are often kept in grassy fields?

Was listening to Gary Bennett. Some mag threw things at him when it was 2-0. He mentioned the lad trying to give Pardew his season ticket. But also said someone else come on the pitch when a free kick was given, wasn't sure who the free kick was too but the supporter ran up and kicked the ball. Stewards were chasing him and then he ended up trying to fight the stewards on the pitch

Angry scenes flared as Newcastle United fans squared up to police after leaving St James Park following their team's 3-0 defeat.

A wall of police officers, mounted and on foot, was formed on St James' Boulevard after full time while SAFC fans were kept inside.

But as police attempted to move them back, angry fans squared-up to officers, some with their faces covered by scarves.

There were loud bangs as flares were thrown into the air and towards police, startling the horses.

Police dog handlers put on riot helmets and walked towards them.

The fans were forced back by police before Sunderland fans were escorted out of the ground.

Several Newcastle United fans waited to watch their rivals leave.

The Black Cats supporters taunted them singing loudly. Some beer bottles were thrown.

At around 3.45pm a gang of young fans gathered surged down Pudding Chare, off the Bigg Market. They began emptying a skip and throwing rubbish.
