Wigan: Al Habsi, Boyce, Perch, Barnett, Beausejour, McCann, Watson, McArthur, McManaman, Maynard, McClean Subs: Nicholls, Gomez, Fortune, Crainey, Espinoza, Browning, McEachran No Nick Powell for Wigan I see
Sordell but no Polish Pete.. something isn't right, I like a big man little man combo, Pete or Church would be good for that Sordell I can't see being a target man AND he isn't exactly going to run onto anything. But interesting to see In other news, Yann on the bench against Leicester, what are Bournemouth thinking? Certain goal if he plays today... and not like he's not match fit either, I hope he didn't go just to sit on the bench :/
A strange-looking team. I don't like the way Poyet has been thrown in after only 10 minutes against Oxford. I know I've praised him enough, but this doesn't seem the right way to do it. At least he'll have Cousins beside him, which worked very well in the U-21's. Preferring Sordell to Church? And 2 left-sided midfielders in front of Poyet and Cousins? Don't panic Mr Mainwaring!!!!!!!!
I don't think the FA believe that we are Man Utd. Still Polish Pete should be all sorted for the games in march! After the debacle on tuesday, the logic here is that Wigan give us a tonking, but as we used the window to offload our poorer players (Yann, Stephens etc) I'll go for a 1-0 defeat.
4-3-1-2 cracking formation on Fifa Not too optimistic, but now adays I'm not too optimistic about anything related to Charlton... until Polish Pete gets in the starting line up 2-1 Loss, Reza to score early and look good then us to drop and defend for 80 minutes when they score in the 60th and then about the 87th
Oi! That was my team apart from Sordell whom I obviously wouldn't pick and CP obviously would pick. I think the balance and shape is good, but the quality just isn't there, nor the familiarity with each other's play. I forecast 7-0 to Wigan but I will change that to 8-0 with Sordell in. Exactly! Thank you, Ted. No poxy wingers! The one positive thing from Kermit's departure is that they no longer have the temptation to lump aimless balls forward seven feet off the ground. There was no excuse for doing it even when we had Kermit, and even less now.
Powell's bizarre starting line up at Doncaster, and this thing with square pegs in round holes, is starting to bug me. I asume we've come out of the transfer window with an unbalanced squad, but it would be nice to play players in their natural position, and dropping Poyet in the deep end is a big ask.
Don't expect too much too soon. He is younger than Michael Smith and with about the same amount of league experience at a not much better level.
Yessssssssssssssssssss!!!! I said 1-0!!! I just thought we'd get the nil. That's what Sordell needed- youngsters to the left of him, youngsters to the right!!!
CP makes tactical change. Lennon replaces Wiggins who was failing to impress. Billy should be doing handstands. Three Academy products on the pitch now.
