I'd be happy with either of Surly's or Silky's team, although I'm leaning towards Silky's. But... with one exception. You've both gone for Bent up front. Slightly out of the box maybe, I'd start with Dempsey.

I know he hasn't exactly shone to date and questions have been raised about his match fitness. However, I believe he's still more likely to upset the Saints defence than Bent and he still has that nose to anticipate a loose ball or an open space in the box.

Hey silkship, I'm glad to see someone else on the forum that takes an interest on betting and the odds - I thought I was a lone punter on here (that bored the pants off everyone else)!

Before today, I thought Southampton were very good value for a win at odds against. But after today's dealings, I've completely changed my tune. I'm more inclined to lay Southampton on Betfair (effectively backing us and the draw). If I like the look of our team sheet when announced, then I might get stuck into a Fulham win at 13/5 (available with our sponsor Marathonbet (they always offer the best odds on Fulham matches).

Historically, attacking players always seem to score on their debuts. So my bet of the day is Holtby to score first (18/1 with Bet365 around 12/1 with other bookies) and him to score at anytime (6/1 with Bet365). I've got a hunch he might be our new penalty taker now Berba has packed his bags, so that could prove to be a very shrewd bet.

You're definitely not alone, I too am a betting man. I never seem to win on Fulham games though as I always allow my heart to over-rule my head.

I know what you mean Ireland, I've always been overly optimistic betting on Fulham. However I've made a few quid recently by betting against usl; I had a nice win when Leicester beat us in the league cup.

Feel free to share any tips or value bets you find on Fulham matches. It's always good to get another perspective to check against my blinkered views!

Yeah I've backed against us too sometimes, the winnings being some sort of consolation for us losing. If we win I'd happily lose my fiver or tenner. I've no idea what way to go tomorrow though, I'll wait until I see the line-ups before doing anything.

I'll share what I can, but sometimes I don't even follow my own tips.

I like a good bet on the weekend football, I have no such problems with Fulham when away bet to lose its a money machine. I tend to go on strong handicaps but on the Asian handicaps

As the earwig said when it went over the cliff, 'ere we go. Yes, it's yet again the Balon D'rop, Mr Jones, in the middle today.

In his 12 games this season he has (only) managed to dish out 37 yellow cards.

It already was, but it's even more of must win if WH and Sunderland hold on here. 3pts off 18th currently.

    2 new boys start:

    Stek
    Riether - Hangeland - Burn - Richardson
    Parker - Kvist - Sidwell
    Duff - Bent - Holtby

    Strange line up I think.

No Dejagah or Kaca, which is annoying, but it's Rene's favoured formation so let's hope/

Bloody hell Rene - assuming dejegah and kara aren't fit - Holtby on the left, Duff on the right - going to be a narrow team. On my way to the ground now - hoping it's a tactical masterstroke but my optimism has gone

Southampton are very strong in midfield, maybe Rene just doesn't want us to be over-run in that area and with Southampton playing a very high line maybe we can get Bent in behind.

Half time and it's 0-0. Could go either way. Southampton have had more possession but we've used ours better. Boruc has made a few key saves to keep them in it. Shaw looks dangerous down the left. Holtby has been our best player so far. Wanyama has been poor for the visitors.

Well now we really need to win this one as Cardiff are 2-1 up. Leaves us rock bottom

This is Swansea all over again. We have several great chances in the first half but we don't convert any of them, we're competitive until half time and then we just switch off.

I'm switching off and going to the pub. I think I might stay away from the board until tomorrow whilst I calm down.

I'm in agreement. Unless we get a good run going soon. All the people around us awe winning games.
