Not just today mate but the whole month. In fact we've had since the end of August to start looking at players for this window....we've had 31 days to try and wrap things up for players. If it was a one off I really wouldn't give a **** but the big picture is now pretty clear, we just can't see an opportunity when it's staring us in the face. This was THE window to push on and show intent. Instead we've penny pinched and flapped around. As critical as I've been (and will continue to be) about Ian Ayre the blame also has to lie with those who hold the purse strings.
So we wouldn't have spoken to his club before flying? Or other clubs about other players? Simple fact is, I don't know if we did or not. I have no idea if we tried for any other players or not. My point is, neither do you or anyone else on this board. Giving Ayre **** isn't justified IMO as none of us have the facts to make that call. Anyway, I'm ****ing off now as I can see there is going to be a withc hunt for him regardless Edit: I couldn't give a **** about the plank but I am pissed off we didn't sign a DM/CM by the way.
Think we can loan players out to non pl teams but can't bring in loan players now, but not sure about free transfers
I agree - although I'm not exactly annoyed about this it is concerning how clubs can be wrapping up 6-7 players and we can't tie up a deal for a player who is far from 'high profile' and should be dying for a chance to come to the PL, there must be questions as to why they can't do it! If nothing else it is a serious waste of time and resources for **** all
Even if we got Kono would still be a disappointing window with no defensive mid. This just makes it worse.
All said and done. We do have a good enough squad, let's just hope injuries are kind to us over the coming months.
G Anyway you cut it we have had since August to look at, identify, and address the needs. I didn't like that we were looking at attacking player but we were. Salah's agent comes out and says they were working with us for two months with nothing concrete...... how the **** does that happen? Then with Kono, we have more than just deadline to get over there, let's sort this and kick on but again it just seems like we are being too cute almost with the deals and now we have pie on the face again. Just annoying, not sure if it is the transfer committee, owners, ayre, but ayre is there to do the deals, he has to be a ****ing used car salesman if we are keeping the purse strings tight or else we just get found out.
Exactly. The good thing is the other teams fighting for top 4 didn't strengthen either It's in our hands still.
