Emnes did a good job for us but dont really see how he can step up to Premier League standard - hope im wrong but just dont see it. the best news today is that noone has left, especially Taylor - a quality left back who should and hopefully will get more game time with us. As Huw just said on 5 live we didnt need to bring in many new faces with players returning from injury and i would go along with that, we re a tight nit squad who have maintained player continuity throughout the seasons and thats one of our strengths. the real business will be done in the summer when or if Laudrup goes with probably a number of first teamers.
This is Excellent news, Emnes is a quality Striker, one that I've always advocated we should have had instead of Lita, Emnes will have no trouble making the step up! We are going to be rocking lads, well done Huw and Laudrup!....................
Not convinced myself , good luck to the lad but disappointed to be honest . Although understandable if the manager is going at then end of the season but all the same a player who hasn't exactly set the Championship alight since he went back to them .

Why Emnes? I know his history, but what is he going to offer now - purely as a stand-in to Bony. I presume this means that Alvaro is cooked.
The boy is quality, and though Boro are not using him means nothing, I'm sure he'll rise to the Premiership Chalenge, hell he's got to be better than Alvaro and Shectner!..............
I'm happy that the two senior players we have brought in are on short contracts. Both N'gog and Emnes will need to work very hard to prove themselves in the premier league in the short time they have and that can only be good for us.
Emnes has played at this level and scored, which is something Alvaro and Shectner have never done!...............
I'm an optimistic fan but what a pile of **** this is we should have strengthened In this window but what we got is crap players both strikers who can't score in the f**king championship!!!! The teams around us have strengthened with quality that makes a difference Holtby to f**king Fulham!! HJ has let everyone involved in our club seriously down and if we're relegated it's his fault not laudrups!!! Say what you want about taking the scalp off the big teams we have chance to compete in Europe and fa cup and this is as good as he can do!!!

Holtby & Chadli would have been more of a statement of intent than (trying for ) Bannan and signing Emnes.
