Would any Liverpool fans be happy paying 20m for Henderson having seen his performances so far in the U21's? No impact whatsoever.

I can see the point in buying young, English players, but the truth is, their just not as developed as young foreign players. It'll be 10 years before any positive changes to youth setups produce English players capable of competing with foreign setups.

Surely that 20m could have been spent on a more immediate, ready-made (Probably foreign) solution to your midfield. Someone who could help get you back into the Champions league before the financial fair play rules kick in and make it even harder.

Kenny seems intent on recreating the British contingent at Liverpool, but the games changed, Liverpool didn't, has been that way for 20 years, and it's one reason why Liverpool have stagnated and been usurped as the best team in England and it just seems to point towards Kenny being out of touch with the modern game.

Does it matter really? It's not our money, and I'm damn well sure that Dalglish and Comolli know a hell of a lot more about football than you.

To be fare he been bought to do it in the league, not for England.

English clubs are having to adapt to the new rules. By buying the best we have to offer, we are in a good position.

Henderson has been under the tutorlige and training techniques of beachball head, the time to pass judgement on kenny or henderson is not before the lad has kicked a ball for Liverpool FC.

as for england performances,so what, the club comes first.

As i said earlier, he will prove useful in the context of the new rules.

He's got ages to prove himself.

Make your mind up, it's almost as if you don't know what your doing....

    As for the post,
But surely for all Kenny's talk of getting young British players with heart, steel, passion etc (the usual cliches) in his new breed, they'd show a bit on one of the biggest stages.

Considering the homegrown rules present young academy/homeground players with an opportunity to break into a big team, something that didn't really happen 5-10 years ago, non of them seem to want to step up.

I think that kenny has proved that LFC at least have a group of youngsters who are only too willing to 'step upto the plate'.

In what way? Yeah, he used Robinson and Spearing a bit towards the end of a throw away season, but this coincided with injuries to Gerrard and your left back.

And isn't he in the market for both a left back and midfielder?

It would be rather rash to play a 17/18 year old 40/50 games a season, wouldn't it?

From Kelly onward every junior that Kenny put on the pitch gave far more than any pundit ever credited was possible. That does not mean that he wants to expose them yet to a full season in both their and the club's best interest.

Look at our youth both in the squad and on the edge of it and tell me where there is a better group of youngsters who not only have potential but have proved that they have the class to make the next step?

My point is, it's easy to say "I'm bringing through young academy players", when really it's a case of "Our squads pretty thin right now, suppose we'll have to use the kids"

To be fair, Kelly looks like he could do a job for you. Probably the only one that's impressed me so far.

How about the Fenway Group that own LFC and employ Kenny have made it club policy to buy young players and build for the future.
