    I remember being quite optimistic at the start of that season, how things changed.

    I'l never forget Joe ****ing Kinear's rant at some press though <laugh>

    Finished 12th the previous season. Sold key player, manager had no control and eventually walked. Why am I getting a feeling of de ja vu.

    If the key player you are referring to is James Milner, I have to disagree as he played a very small part in the 07-08 season. It was the season before where he was terrific, but he failed to make an impact in his final season as far as I can recall.

    I didn't think much of Milner's Newcastle career. He never really did much. The biggest impact he made was at the beginning of the 08/09 season, just before we sold him to Villa. Other than that he was little more than average. I always rated N'Zogbia higher in our midfield

    Milner always got a good hand from the crowd when he was warming up as a sub.

    I must admit I didnt think much of Milner when he was with us and thought the 12 mil was good business at the time.... had it been re-invested that it.

    He only learned how to cross after a few months of being at Villa.
