Gus has his fingerprints on every move since his appointment. It's been good for him and good for the club. But not this one, I suspect. The suits are making this move, and he's smart enough to know when to fight, and when to accept certain decisions. On the whole, Ellis and M have done right by him. He trusts them now one would assume. They probably told him this was best for the club in the long run, accept and move on.
I know all that mate but that's just my guess how it will all pan out and by the sounds of it all parties have agreed, I just hope to **** we have a back-up plan for a replacement. We can't rely on an untried Bridcutt who hasn't played for 3 weeks. Don't get me wrong, I'm chuffed the lad has signed and I reckon he'll blossom into a brilliant player for us but to let Catts go without replacing would be daft in my opinion.
I liked these lads at the time.. Knew their session guitarist very well, told me a story at the time where he, Sid and johnny and a few others were walking down King's Road in Chelsea and a hippy lad walking towards them asked if there was somewhere near to get a bite to eat and a drink. Johnny R replied said, "yeah mate there's a cafe about 200 yards that way". The lad said cheers and went walking off, then Johnny shouted "but it's ****ing shut".. God, I love rock n' roll n' punk..
First one to make it onto vinyl that's for sure. My copy is stamped 1976 which pre-dates any other punk stuff by 12 months.
Can't agree with that mate, we have other leaders in the squad who can fill that roll, Bridcutt wasn't bought to be a leader, not just yet anyway, he was bought for his ball playing qualities which sadly, as much as I liked Catts he isn't the best passer of a ball. Gus was just saying this morning that Catts was struggling, along with others, to adopt to his style of play, maybe he just doesn't see that happening and the price offered is too good to refuse? We'll never know mate but fact is it looks like he's going.
Unless this is crazy money why sell Catts to a relegation rival, this is a bit silly......could we send Larson instead with a Catts mask on!!
Can't do Billy, got a house to pack up ready for the move as well as 24/7 Lollie. Will get there soon though..
I just hope we got a good price for him but as usual the 'new' Sunderland way is to say 'undisclosed' so we never find out.
That's wierd Joe, it's almost as if they are at the cross roads, not knowing what direction to take... Come out of the mid 70's and trying hard to be punk... I'm only guessing mind, that was 1977, i was still in baby school.
Selling to a rival for 5m is a p!ss take. I thought this 3rd offer was a very tempting one, how much did they offer first?? Ill be annoyed if they isnt a replacement made!

Need to Bri, Lollie's born and bred here and doctors etc have been on her case for years. I hate the place personally, great City centre but ****ing awful people. You can see why they had them making chocolate, could never see them down pits or working shipyards. Like ****ing fraggle rock where I live at the mo..
