Monday 27 June - Points awarded by mods. __________________________________________________ Current Standings: please log in to view this image __________________________________________________ Full Rules (for reference): The mods will assign the numbers 1 to 24 to drivers as per previous sweepstakes. The mods will assign the letters A to L to teams. The drivers (not teams) will be split into the following tiers: Tier 1 (Red Bull Racing, McLaren, Ferrari, Renault), Tier 2 (Mercedes GP, Sauber, Toro Rosso, Force India), Tier 3 (Williams, Team Lotus, HRT, Virgin Racing). The tiers are now based on current WCC standings, as suggested by WestCoastBoogaloo. The selection phase will open on Friday 17 June at 6pm to give DHCanary time to get out of bed. Forum members should pick one number (from 1 to 24). After all the numbers have been picked, latecomers (who missed the chance to pick a number) can pick a letter (from A to L). The selection phase will close on Tuesday 21 June at 6pm. No further number picks will be allowed but any further latecomers may continue to pick a letter (A to L, one each). Number selections (which forum member has what driver) will be revealed during the evenings of Tuesday 21 and/or Wednesday 22 June. The bartering phase will open on Wednesday 22 June after all number selections have been revealed. This applies to drivers only. Forum members who wish to swap their drivers may do so. Both members should post which member they want to swap with, which driver they want to give away and which driver they want to receive in return. The bartering phase will close on Thursday 23 June at 9pm. No further swaps will be allowed. The final allocation of drivers and teams to forum members will be published before the first free practice session on Friday 24 June. SCORING FREE PRACTICE: To pacify irishgreen, 10 points will be awarded to the forum members whose drivers finish highest in each tier in each of the three free practice sessions. 10 points will be awarded to the forum member whose team finishes highest in each of the three free practice sessions compared to other members' teams. If no times are posted during a free practice session, or a session is cancelled before it begins, then no points will be awarded for that session. QUALIFYING: 25 points will be awarded to the forum members whose drivers finish highest in each tier after qualifying practice. 25 points will be awarded to the forum member whose team finishes highest after qualifying compared to other members' teams. Finishing positions will take account of any grid penalties applied but will not take account of technical problems that force a driver to start from the pit lane. RACE (Drivers): 50 points will be awarded to the forum members whose drivers finish highest in each tier after the race. Finishing positions will take account of any post-race penalties applied. RACE (Teams): 50 points will be awarded to the forum member whose team scores the most points in the race. If no members' teams score points then 50 points will be awarded the highest classified team. Finishing positions will take account of any post-race penalties applied. If no members' teams are classified as finishing the race then no points will be awarded.

Sorry, Bergie, I haven't listed anyone's zero. Please note: Mercedes and Renault drivers have swapped tiers due to their teams' Constructors' Championship positions Teams are not split into tiers and are available only to latecomers after all the drivers have gone

An excellent set of rules which appear to have been very thoroughly thought through. I am assuming that Genji has been responsible for setting this out so clearly. Top Geezer: I second those who have voiced their praise for this fine effort. Just one more thing: I knew I was leading this thing after the first round, having drawn the longest straw but I am stunned to see that I am still ahead after getting Massa and Renault! - Maybe I was just born lucky…

Actually, having adopted your and AG's recommendation regarding teams and latecomers, there are plenty of options this time round so, even in absentia, someone can pick you (and the other mods) a number, which might turn out to be Glock. DHC - because of the added complication of bartering this time we do need to have everyone's driver choices revealed by Tuesday/Wednesday evening so discuss with AG and El_B if they need a hand and then they can PM you the driver list after everyone's picked. FF - it doesn't really need to be a sticky does it? It seems to get plenty of attention from those who know about it during the build-up to the race. If it was stickied then regulars would probably miss out on driver selections and fill up the team selections, which we'd then have to introduce tiers for.
Im free for the days running up to the GP so just let me know when I need to reveal. If DH wants to help he can I suppose as a guest announcer!
