Fair enough. Soldado talking about our bid in 2012 :http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7996800/ I'm struggling to find a Capoue one because every Google search I do with his name just turns up a load of articles about Napoli bidding for him.

I just thought you were being a bit dismissive of him, to be honest, like that he wouldn't realise that we're better off signing a player with Premier League experience if we brought in anyone at all.

Oh no don't get me wrong, Baldini was arguably our best signing of the summer when you consider how well respected he is and the players he managed to help bring in to both Roma and Spurs. I just think his tendency is to find gems from abroad more so than domestically.

we aren't getting anyone, are we?

However, I'm still waiting for sky sports to report that we're "trying" for "X player", in order to keep us watching the deadline day show until 11pm.

I certainly won't be fooling for it this time.

A tweet was just retweeted onto my timeline from someone called Harry Sherlock, who says he's a Goal journalist. Said that Fryers was offered to West Ham today but they declined.

MAYBE, just maybe the club is looking at bringing in another left back? Really hope so, I'm gonna clutch to this straw!

Despite the fact I'd like a LB, I won't too fussed if we don't sign anyone. The squad is superb (apart from LB lol), it's just underperforming/ hit by injuries.

and the solution if Adebayor gets injured or sulks? Defoe is off in march too.

we literally have no one else who seems capable of scoring goals, and we're sat on a goal difference in the minus. <yikes>

I can't see the club bringing in a striker (unless it's a Berba-esque oldie until end of season) due to the fact we paid £26m for one in the summer. That's why I mentioned the underperforming part though, start of the season most of us would agree we thought we acquired a 25 goal a season striker... Instead we've a acquired a penalty king. Hopefully he can turn a corner soon otherwise what a monumental **** up he's been.

  10. Reports are circling that the alleged private jet that was possibly heading to Manchester airport, which may or may not have been carrying Porto players Fernando and Eliaquim Mangala, is not now due to land.

I can't see us bringing one in either, but that still doesn't take away the fact that we're not scoring enough goals. Regardless of how much we spent on him, we will struggle to get CL football unless there's a drastic change. our goal difference will let us down again.
Unless we sign a brick wall for our defence.

With Jan, Younes, Paulinho and Sandro all returning, hopefully we'll be a far better unit.

I agree with you mate we're not scoring enough but I just don't think a striker will be brought in unless, like I mentioned it's a Berba-esque type who can give us a good 6 months then **** off to Qatar for a last big pay check.

Not bitter at all mate, I mentioned I don't how I'd feel if he returned as I despised the way he treated us. Looks to be off to Monaco though anyway.

Apparently Liverpool are looking at Chadli as an alternative to Konoplyanka as the move is in the balance.

Sherwood was never interested in signing any players and has only been saying 'we're always looking' just to keep fans happy. When Levy appointed Sherwood it was to work with the current squad and promote kids where needed while players like Holtby unfortunately had no future.

Unless we can find someone who needs to play games to win their place in the world cup, possibly a Spanish player or someone from Argentina, may be expensive but they should be hungry to perform <whistle>

  19. After all the piss-taking the Mousers have given us over our "£100 million flops" it would be orgasmically funny if they signed Chadli on loan.

Nurse! Please reserve my bed at the cock-clinic, just in case, please!

I don't want us to accept a penny less than what we got for Bale! :D
