From the interviews that have been put up on CAFCplayer and reading the twitter pages of our various new signings, The Asteroid, Reza and Polish Pete all seem to have pretty good English. My issue with them would be their match sharpness and that they are completely alien to what is a frantic and physical league, we cannot afford to have many (if any) passengers adapting to the league in our current situation. As stated on another thread, I feel any signings made today (ideally a creative midfielder, 1 possibly 2 wingers and 4 goalkeepers) would have to be domestically based.
I know nothing about these players. Will they help us stick the ball in the net? If not we're dooooomed!
Polish Pete (who hasn't formally signed yet, subject to medical today) is the most exciting of the trio... very good scoring record in Holland, and according to reports we've beaten the Hammers to his signature... he's also 6' 3", so works as a target man as well, I'm guessing, whereas Gucci is a pacy striker, so hopefully this is a partnership that could work... or they could be rubbish.
I am going to be a bit bossy here, so apologies in advance. Super C, when you get the time, can you make this a sticky (?) thread, please? Captain B, when you get the time, can you compile an updated list, please? I can't wait for the Brum match next Saturday - if it goes ahead...
can you make a thread that we cant post on that has the current squad and their statuses? - we can then all practice learning the new names
Yann has left for Bournemouth confirmed - http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/20140131-yann-kermorgant-signs-for-bournemouth-1330648.aspx
Yann's departure is confirmed. http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/20140131-yann-kermorgant-signs-for-bournemouth-1330648.aspx And Tobi Sho-Silva has joined Welling United for a month. Both added to the list
I really thought he would hold on for a new contract or a better deal in the summer. Sad to see him go, and wish him all the best. We will no longer dream of a team of Kermorgant's. Just the original.
What a horrible piece of writing that report on the CAFC website is re Kermo It's like censored propaganda Was he really offered a deal?
I think he was, but at reduced terms. I can understand why he would take the better offer Bournemouth (I assume) offered him. You can always put money on him to score tomorrow, he's guaranteed to 1) because he's an ex-Charlton player and 2) because it's against Leicester
Yeah that might soften the blow. Do you agree that this is a crisis. A large crisis. In fact, if you got a moment, it's a twelve-storey crisis with a magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24-hour portage, and an enormous sign on the roof, saying 'This Is a Large Crisis'? I wonder if Roland is sitting somewhere with his pants on his head shuffling his players around boggy pitches like a mad WWI General.
Hey, only I make the Blackadder jokes around here Signing the Polish bloke would help massively, but even then it's a gamble that he and Reza will adapt quickly to English football. RD is taking a huge risk here.
