This would be the icing on the cake for Mike.

Ok, now this one does make me panic....for me, given we're not buying, the only logical way to cope with Cabaye leaving is to use Ben Arfa.

If this happened without an immediate and proper replacement then they will have very badly misjudged the situation, on and off the pitch.

Regardless of the obvious issues this causes with the team and fans, I daresay the manager and playing squad would take a pretty dim view.

Plus I won't be happy having spent the last 10,000 words here trying to defend it all.

"Italian reports suggesting that Inter Milan may make a last ditch bid for Hatem Ben Arfa of Newcastle. Details unclear, and very much unconfirmed at present".

There seems to be no movement on a new contract, so who knows if a decent offer came in, we might go for it rather than selling in the summer.

He's only got 18 months left on his current deal. I think this rumour might have some legs.

Surely, this would mean Cabella or someone coming in during this window. I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry if he went with no replacement coming in.

There would be chaos tomorrow if that is the case.

It would have to be a big offer at such a late stage in the window. But it's always possible with Ashley.

It would be totally devastating to lose both Cabs and Beni with no replacement, even if it's for a lot of cash. I think there would be total uproar - especially if it's a bad result tomorrow.

Accepting a good offer would make sense on its own. He's a player we would all love to see succeed, but for all his skill there isn't enough of an end result or of an addition to the team. If the funds are used to get Cabella in immediately (and we'd need to know the offer would be accepted before selling - no tried our best ****e), but if this happened too then I'd see it as good business. Not getting anyone in would be a disaster off the pitch. It would feed the negativity and could see things boil over and get very ugly. The last thing our club needs is another civil war.

Do you think the club knew about
This on Tuesday night, odd he randomly hobbled off next to the away support the entire situation puzzled me then.
Was that a way to ensure he does not pick up any more knocks and had the chance to say goodbye ???

Ben Arfa for Cabella, Ince - no problem. A Ben Arfa shaped hole alongside a Cabaye shaped hole is a little bit unappealing.

I think it will be World War III tomorrow if we lose HBA and don't sign a replacement.
