Jose Mourinho's jibe at Big Sam has been interpreted just as sour grapes, but in fact what he said was basically true. Allardyce plays retro football. This got me thinking about whether there are other teams in the PL of which the same could be said, and if so which teams they are? I'd say there are two others: Villa and Palace.
Well Stoke over the past few years would have been the obvious but of course now they are playing differently (but ironically not doing so well) I guess therefore one has to be pragmatic and from Sam's perspective surely he set Wet Sham up the right way because that point could be vital come the end of the season. I would hope we would do similar when Citeh come to CR.
Yes, no problem with his game plan on Wednesday. It's the way his teams play in general that justifies JM's comment. Would any other PL team have offered Andy Carroll a home?
Re: Andy Carroll, not for that transfer fee and wage, it was putting all your eggs in one financial basket and it has backfired badly. Teams in general this year in my view have been less entertaining largely because 11 are gripped with fear. Everton are the most improved side but they got spanked by being over-adventurous at Anfield. The financial penalty of failure is strangling the game.
Chelsea's football is just as dull. Pot calling kettle on playing boring but effective football methinks.
Did you see Cardiff when they came to Carrow Road? Or Hull? I'm not saying we are good to watch but there are several other teams in this division who are just as bad.
