BBC reckons they are linked to Heitinga from Everton - hopefully thats the centre half they are after? Given the position the club are in financially they should not be selling anyone save for those out of contract very soon, fringe players or unless crazy money is bid
I can't remember being this disillusioned with the club since Mowbray. The last 18 months the fans have been spoon-fed rhetoric rather than truth. Sell our best players/let their contracts run down then expect fans to be happy when they give it the "we know what we're doing" pish.
We are going to be weaker coming out of a transfer window 2 times in a row. We never try to build on success at Celtic, Happened to O'Neil, Strachan and now Lennon. At least under O'Neil and Strachan there was more effort to retain our better players. Players leaving for Norwich (Hooper), Palace (Ledley) and Southampton (Victor). Celtic don't want these players because they command too big a wage and we are not willing to pay it, we could have easily retained all of the above without a massive outlay of cash.
Good luck Joe. If he doesn't want to stay, all the best and thanks for the memories. Griffiths undergoing medical as we speak. A tad ugly for the hoops, but a good footballer none the less.
I can understand selling players if a crazy bid comes in. Its how we will have to operate, buy cheap and sell for a profit. But we are cash rich at the moment. Sell our better players = better chance of failing to qualify for the CL = less money and the need to sell a player - who we cant - cuz we have nothing decent left to sell
I could probably be more accepting of it if the club didn't treat the fans like simpletons. Sure there are many dimwitted gullible ****s among our support but most of us are intelligent and mature enough to accept the truth when it's presented to us. Giving it "Sure we can spend £6m on a player" without adding the truthful part of "but we ****ing won't" at the end smacks of treating the fans with nothing more than contempt.
We will agree to go to £6m - but will only offer wages you'd give to someone we can buy for £250k - so it wont happen. But we tried!

My problem with him has never been about footballing ability. It's about his previous problems, most of which happened in Central Scotland. Celtic as a club, in my opinion, should take far more than footballing ability into consideration when signing a player. The fact that Griffiths is considered "a project" is indicative of the lack of actual ambition since Rangers died.
Theres no cure for being a **** I'm afraid. El Hadj Diouf = Still a massive ****. Joey Barton = Still a massive ****. Leigh Griffiths = Still a massive ****.
Nobody decent wants to play in the SPFL for more than a few years. Would have liked to keep Ledley etc but why would a 27 year old commit to another 3 or 4 years of dross in half empty stadia?
It's not just Ledley, it's an accumulation of things. Ledley leaving is just the rotten cherry on the top of a steaming pile of dog ****.
