Aylesbury FC have sealed something of a coup with the signing of former Queens Park Rangers and Northampton Town midfielder Ollie Burgess. Burgess is the latest addition to Steve Batemanâs squad who joins from the managerâs old club Slough Town. A versatile midfielder, Burgess is capable of playing in the middle or on the right side of the pitch. He started his career at Queens Park Rangers, scoring one goal from 10 appearances. He made a further nine league appearances for Northampton Town before his career was cut short by a serious knee injury.
10 appearances between 2000 and 2003. One goal. Sold to Northampton where he played 9 times in 2003/4 before wrecking his knee. Played for Slough in 2011 and has played 62 times from them, scoring 9 times. please log in to view this image
I remember him. Didn't he suffer a serious injury while "playing" for us (not the first team), and I'm sure he played in our pre-sesaon thrashing by Celtic (6-1?) a few seasons ago. I think he assisted for our goal. Yet another youth player who wasn't quite good enough.
Was in my 2001/2 Champ Manager team with the likes of Wardley, Doudou, Griffiths and Ben Askar. And someone called Patrick Gradley. Garbage.
