Giving the ball away cheaply has been the hallmark of this season, and then we get caught out. This is a unique league and the Pozzos need to learn that...fast.
We need a sh't hot striker...... that was the difference last season.... defence was poor but we scored on the break.
It's all a bit doom and gloom, isn't it?Let's just get the wins to keep us up and think again for August (already!)
wtf it was 2-0 when I went to the airport, guess I'll just drink the plane dry, how many GnTs can I drink in honor of the great GT in 9 hours????? I feel a record comin on.
No. Deeney is the only out and out striker. FF plays off the striker, and god only knows what Fabbrini is!!
This is so frustrating. Probably made worse coming off such a great season last year and the start to this year. I am not going to start blaming the new manager yet, but I still think Zola walked to early and could have turned it around. When I look at the team and the bench I think we have probably got the best squad in the division. What we don't seem to have is a team, cohesion and heart. I see people crying out for new signings, but we already have a great squad. What we need is for this bunch of players to realise what the championship is about, to have some passion and fight, to stop giving possession away cheaply. New signings mean nothing if we can't get a very talented squad to play as a team.
I haven't watched many games this season. However, if Fabbrini and Farioni are usually like this then they are as good as FF's right foot. Anya, Deeney and Angella looked to be on decent form today, at a push. Yes yes ya'll two sides to every coin. New manager has just come in and might turn things round still, give him time. We have a new Tozser and Ranegie (what's up with him?) AND Merkel to come into the team too. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...__happy__to_see_new_signings_before_deadline/ maybe more to come but I'd rather not panic buy to be fair. Moreover, we have a big squad now. We are 7 points off the drop, and hopefully they'll be 3 crapper teams than us. The only thing that concerns me is if we did get dragged right into it, would people have the grit and steel to get out of it? Bepe is calling for that NOW http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...lls_for_more_personality_after_Forest_defeat/ I doubt it will come to that though. Keep the faith, we have a good chance of finishing mid-table!! (maybe!) Look at the next ten fixtures below, with teams in bold that we play who are below us. This could really shape a terrible dog fight or late miraculous play off push..... Watford V Brighton Sun 2 Feb 15:00 Leicester V Watford Sat 8 Feb 15:00 Watford V Birmingham Tue 11 Feb 19:45 Watford V Middlesbrough Sat 15 Feb 15:00 Yeovil V Watford Tue 18 Feb 19:45 Bolton V Watford Sat 22 Feb15:00 March 2014 Watford V Blackpool Sat 1 Mar 15:00 Charlton V Watford Sat 8 Mar 15:00 Doncaster V Watford Tue 11 Mar 19:45 Watford V Barnsley Sat 15 Mar 15:00 Only Millwall ans Sheff Wed missing from those below us in the next ten games then, big fixtures coming up. Not for any other fans but ours, welcome to the wrong end of the Championship. Personally, I'd take 16th position now and we can get ready, better prepared for the 46 game war that is the Championship, next season...
Nice post Mex........ But to win a few of those matches we need a striker and I'm not talking about a reject from somewhere, I'm talking about a skilful, built for goals, attacker who has been specifically brought for the purpose. Can the Pozzo's do it, or will they continue the Pozzo model of only bringing in foreign youth that's might (on the off chance) be good. Look at Deeney and how good he has been for us perhaps the Pozzo's could learn by the Malky model!?!
Ditto I remain to be convinced we don't need a sh't hot striker.... as Vydra was the diff. for us last season...
