I wouldn't be too sure of that. We now have to look seriously over our shoulders - we are plummeting towards those bottom 3 places. No spine to the side I'm afraid. Clubs now know they just have to get at us for us to crumble. Time to grind out half a dozen narrow ugly wins before the end of the season......
This is it I'm afraid. What were we doing when we went two nil up. Trying to defend too much and then falling apart - again.
When players like Cassetti and Fabrini come on you know your in trouble ! This foreign bloke Sannino could well get us relegated, very poor use of subs, no tactics we sat deep and got punished To be fair though, Almunia and Angella were great
Why bring in all these new players at not play them ? This was in effect last year's team - and that has been found out. Yes there are fitness and injury issues, but unless something is done we ARE in a relegation battle. The defence issues have not been sorted. And perhaps there are just too many options in midfield. And the attack still looks light. Time for Beppe to start earning his corn. Or he will not be here at the start of next season.
We actually changed tactics at 2-0 up... just like at Man City.... and we let them come at us ..... and we aren't up to it.... the first two goals to my memory came as a result of us not marking crosses coming in to LB... and for large parts of the last 20 we had lost all shape in midfield...
2 nil and we ****ed it up - we need it rethink this sitting back and looking for the breakaway goal. No doubt we can look forward to a visit or two from some gloating Forest fans..
Our game depends on players being super fit and when they tire we do not have direct replacements. Abdi was brought on for FF, but he is a totally different type of player. Unfortunately I have doubts if we will see much more of him. The first half we did what was required, but when Forest sent on forwards second half our defence was wilting and the midfield completely lost it's shape. The passing became more and more ragged and we set things up nicely for the fresh players.
We have not been able to defend crosses for most of the season. If new personnel are needed up front or at the back then we only have 25 hours to deal with it. Hopefully those we already have but have not seen yet can make a difference........
As Dychey says "when you play a 3-5-2 formation and give the ball away as much as watford do then the players are left in unfamiliar positions trying to get back" That clearly sums it up, if Sannino continues with these crap formations we are Donald Ducked, Zola did it and this latest one does it. Perhaps Mr Pozzo could trawl Serie B for any more cheap players who fancy a holiday
Not sure, but it seems to be his foot injury that can be very difficult to heal. If he doesn't play again this season I doubt that we would keep him.
Our lack of pace and ability to physically match any team is what costs us. Forest are a very good side who have the squad to bring on 3 decent strikers for this level and one of the best midfielders in this league. Do we even have 3 strikers in the squad - too many midfielders I must say and not a lot elsewhere.
