MON play off team pearsons team my pick of the two teams GK 1 Kevin Poole or Schmeichel kasper better all round keeper no contest RB 2 Simon Grayson or De Laet De laet CB 4 Julian Watts or Moore Moore edges this CB 5 Steve Walsh (c) or Morgan no contest Steve Walsh LB 3 Mike Whitlow or Konchesky not much to choose between them RM 10 Garry Parker or Konckaert tough one Gary Parker great free kick CM 6 Muzzy Izzet or James Muzzy was probably the one who tuned the season round CM 7 Neil Lennon or Drinkwater lennon LM 8 Scott Taylor or Dyer lloyd CF 9 Steve Claridge or Nugent super steve CF 11 Emile Heskey or Vardy Vardy probaly more likely to score goes down a liitle less than bruno
It's a good exercise but I can't be having Vardy over Bruno ... you need to go back and look at the footage of just how good Emile was when he came on the scene ... he also got kicked quite a lot more becuse that was the only way some defenders could contain him ...
Pearsons isn't a promotion team until we get enough points Its hard to compare them as the game has changed so much in recent times, MO'Ns team really could dig in and win those hard tackles that would get you a red card nowadays, now emphasis has moved onto attractive football and think that Pearson has the right blend to achieve this. If the two teams were to play each other toady, Vardy would get about 8 penalties.
GK 1 Schmeichel RB 2 Grayson CB 4 Morgan CB 5 Walsh (c) LB 3 Konchesky RM 10 Konckaert CM 6 Izzet CM 7 Lennon LM 8 Dyer CF 9 Nugent CF 11 Heskey You are obviously thinking about Liverpool Heskey who ruined him - Bruno at Leicester was phenomenal. Also why choose between Walsh and Morgan - why not both?
That´s what I´m talking about. Vardy on the bench then if you put Bruno in. I´d have it the other way around & I´d have to replace Konch with someone else, maybe Whitlow ? What a team though.
I'd have played Heskey and Vardy together and have dropped Konch ... and Pontus Kaamark at full-back too ...
pontus was fantastic but cant agree at not having Parker, just for his free kicks was a class act. think Vardy has come into his on this season, Heskey will always be a god have his name on one of my tops, but 95-96 season 30 games 7 goals so far this season 30 games so far 10 goals my point wasn't that we have this in the bag but what nigel has done getting this lot together is a fantastic achievement as a team i think half the curent squad are as good if not better than MONs team
... I think you do him a disservice - was far more than a dead ball merchant ... I saw Neil Lennon's debut at Reading all those years back - was actually on the side bit so got a great view of the midfield ... Lenny came on as a sub and then went and set up our goal in a 1-1 draw ... but the best bit was the cameo microcosm in the game when Lenny and Garry Parker played 'keep ball' just between the two of them ... they just paseed, moved, then had it back off of one another ... Reading players (and fans) were pretty miffed to say the least .... knew than that Lenny was going to be some player for us ... and with the addition of Muzzy Izzet ... well, the rest is history.
agreed parker was more than a dead ball, he was on a different level to many in the team with his ability to pick out the right pass. was there the night he was sent off for taking the free kick too quickly. the kop was rocking that night
