Without Torres his hands are tied. Why Salah wasn't fast tracked in for this game and we let Mata go is beyond belief. Should never have let him go until his replacement was ready to play. I would push Salah up top against City, if he is fit enough. He has the pace to play on the counter and do damage, with Willian and Hazard either side, and chuck Ramires, Matic and Oscar in a 3 man midfield. Luiz is also a necessity in the back due to his pace and long passing ability.
Going toe to toe with City in an open game at the Etihad would be suicide,as seen by Arsenal's hiding ( although many arsenal fans feel they were unlucky bizarrely)when they tried that. Denying city time and space is always the starting point and hitting us on the break exposing our high defensive line. Not sure Chelsea have the front men to effectively do that however?
I can see us setting up very much like we did against United. Our defensive record has been impecable of late and Jose will be looking to use this to our advantage!
I would not mind tinkering with playing Oscar or Hazard in the false 9 position. More chance of playing counter attacking well. Ramires-Mikel-Matic would hopefully flood the midfield and stop City getting the ball to Silva, Negredo and Navas
