I know that Red Hot Chili Peppers are playing during it, which might actually be worth a watch if they play their 90s stuff.
Sorry you find someone being surprised you know more about some sport which is not popular here than you do of your national sport and the one played by the club you follow and which is responsible for the website we are on.
Wait, where have I said I know more about hockey than football? I mentioned one or two historical bits of hockey and our local hockey team ffs. You just made that up on the spot because I, seemingly amazingly to you, don't know everything to do with football. Surprisingly, nobody does. I know a ****ing lot about football. Much more than anyone I know. (I recommend going to the Football trivia thread on GC - you'll see that I do know quite a bit) So please, just ****ing leave it.
That's a good observation. The beauty of football is that the clock never stops, so there are no "time outs" for television (or radio) to take over and elongate the match. American sports are made more difficult to enjoy because of this. Baseball is game which was played at a brisk pace, a 9-inning game coming in at 90 minutes to an hour, in the days before radio and TV broadcasts. American football is excrutiating to watch in person because of all the time spent watching people mill around while the TV networks are airing commercials. I watch my St. Louis Rams and Missouri Tigers games by DVR, fast-forwarding through all the commercials, and enjoy the entire game at a brisk hour and 15 minutes or so. If the governing bodies of football every consider actions that would include the stopping of the clock, such as the nonsensicle idea to add hockeyesque power plays, oppose it with all your might. Don't let "TV timeouts" in the door because they'll never go away.
Nothing wrong with having more than one sport. If you dont have more than one sport you end up having no sports to watch durring the offseason. Personally I think it is cool that you watch hockey. If you watch the Fliers or Penguins I will never talk to you again.
Crosby's been off the boil a bit in the last couple of seasons (you can add me to your ignore list now!)
College (American) football team. I don't know about China, but they're big in Columbia. Columbia, Missouri that is.
I don't expect you, or any one, to know everything about football. Just surprised at some of the things you don't. Although of course it is an age thing as well. But if I saw something I didn't know about I would look it up. Easy to find out things these days, easier than when you had to rely on your memory, so a good idea to check things before posting on a subject. I really hope you fulfil your ambition. And I do mean that through personal experiences
Some young pop singer named Bruno Mars. I don't even know who that is. I'll probably turn the TV to Puppy Bowl 10 during the halftime show. At least the National Anthem will be quality.
Yes but only for the dancing girls and the razz ma tazzzz. Not sure about Bruno Mars as the HT turn though ?????
It's about to start, lads and ladies. I'm really not a fan, but there's **** all on and can't be arsed to watch anything else. Come on Denver.
