I've been one of the few who've supported him.and stuck up for him through the ridiculous criticism he's been getting.

He was our key player last night and anyone who can criticise his performance either just likes a scapegoat or is uneducated about football and cant form their own opinion and just repeats what they hear.

He won nearly every header, hassled and hurried their defenders. Worked his socks off and drew both yellow cards which probably got us the points in the end. When he was on the pitch we were on the front foot.

Unlucky not to score (you tutting, yes you,.imagine if that was Mannone saving from Crouch, great save right?)

When he went off we were dog **** and all that Fletcher contributed was making sure his combover stayed in place.

Our key players are Johnson and Borini, they are much better when Altidore plays than when Fletcher is blowing around upfront like a plastic bag on a windy day!!!

Hope he starts the derby, haway Jozy, haway the lads!!!!!!

    Rant over!

I'll go as far as to say that we missed him when he came off....Fletcher just couldn't do the same job. He needs to score, one of his arse would do but the longer he goes the harder life will get....please just fluke one and I think he will go on from there.

Aye he's got to start, after all he's had one decent game. That's my own opinion, which i have formed all by myself, but then again, i may just be taking the piss, and maybe thinking something completely different, i.e, hope he doesn't start.

I owuldnt say he was fantastic last night, but he was much better than Fletcher and had a half decent game, yet it Jozy that gets the criticism

Fletcher is living off a reputation of scoring a few goals last season, but has been dire this season.

who would you stat in his place ?

Fletcher was a bag of **** when he came on.

Can't see nacho getting a start. a bit much for your 1st game going straight into a derby.

Wickham ? Can't see it myself

So for me, Jozy must start on saturday

Would rather have wickham start than either. Give him a bit of a confidence boost. Don't think we're going to see a huge difference in jozy till next season, although if it's out of fletch or jozy starting would rather see jozy

Never saw the match but i'm far from impressed with both Jozy and Fletcher, although i'm cutting Fletcher some slack cos he is carrying an injury (and a hair transplant) I'd start Whickam, if nothing else he is a handful and sticks his boot in where it hurts, plus off the back of a decent run at Sheff Wed, he is in form and might just grab a goal.
Keep Fletcher on the bench and start Whickam, young legs, out to impress, in form, you never know, he could be a hero?

Well I have backed Fletcher as much as I can but he just looks injured, old and looks like he does not give a ****.
£10m for him and Catts looks a good deal at the moment provided we buy Ki and tie Colbeck to a deal.
Buy ince and please please please get a striker.
That was also Altidores best game last night and yes he needs a goal but I have also seen him have dire games. Borini is also getting better so just keep us up and start again in the summer as I think gardner and Larson are on their way

Thought he played well last night, some good knock downs but players not moving into the space. Held the ball well and if he'd lifted the shot in 2nd half by a few more inches he'd have been on the score sheet. Thought he went down easy when tackled by NZonzi but slo-mo showed his leg was taken just as he was pushing off and a nudge sent him sprawling. Why was that foul not a straight red? NZonzi was last man and Joziie was through on goal.

Hope Stoke go down if only to spite that twat Hughes. Liked him as a player and thought he was hard done by at Man City but he's turned into a whining
    tosspot.

Jozie will be our new Mag beater on Sunday

I've never questioned his work rate or his attitude tbh as both are spot on.

My concern is he can't score goals at this level and that's pretty obvious. He just doesn't look like scoring. We could have bought anyone to run about and hassle defenders for far less outlay and a quarter of his wages and what we need is a goal scorer. Altidore is better than Fletcher at the moment but Fletcher is struggling to shake off niggling injuries which are hampering his form. Jozy just isn't good enough.

Unfortunately for both Fletcher and Jozy, I dont think they are suited to Poyet's system. Jozy is a better target man than Fletcher, but he hasnt got enough acceleration. I am pretty sure if played in a system that suits them, they would both score - but it isnt the case.

The Fletcher niggling injury.thing is a bit tired now. When was he last actually injured?

i think Altidore can score goals given the chance (im not talking one half chance every half dozen games)

Johnson could have laid him on for a tap in.last night but went for the glory and missed.

He probably would have missed as well, difference is one has scored recently the other hasn't, but I agree Jozy had his best game, so just perhaps this will be the begging for him and not the end as some would prefer, lets hope so, over to you Gus

He did have a decent game last night and performed better than Fletcher.

The only person who should've replaced Jozy last night was Wickham (if anyone) - It was by far his best game for us. OK a couple of touches were poor but the lads confidence must be as low as ever. It would've done a lot for his confidence the reception he got when subbed last night - just wish he'd acknowledged it so that he didn't think it was for Fletcher! If he'd put that one chance in then it would've done him the world of good.

The game was tailor made for a big burly centre forward who has a little pace to put their defenders under pressure. People may not think much of him but that game was ideal for him. Borini had a poor second half yesterday - we missed Cattermole like crazy (truly hope he's just rested and not being sold). Bridcutt medical apparently on the BBC so he may play on Saturday but that'd make me nervous as I know nothing about him!

I was one of the people who slated Jozy but credit where credit is due he played well yesterday.

At the end of the day he doesn't score enough goals which is what he gets judged on. But if he can contribute like he did last night in games a cause problem, win free kicks basically get stuck in then hats off to the lad

I'm one of his biggest critics mate as I just don't understand why he seems to hit the ground as often as he does for such a big lad. That said, I hope to **** he does the business against Hull, I would love to see him bag the winner and I'd be the first to eat humble pie.
I don't want him or any other Sunderland player to fail, I wish he would turn into a 10-15 goal a season striker like we all would. He's one of those that just need a couple of goals under his belt to get him going but he needs to do a little bit more to make that happen.
