Why so, MA? It doesn't matter if you've followed Charlton for a day, a decade, or a half-century - for as long as you have the club in your heart, you will always be a bona fide member of the Red Army.
Some will laugh and think "get a life" but I actually feel depressed about Charlton's future right now. Yann leaving and Rick Everitt posting that Stephens and probably Wiggins going too, this week. And what is coming in....Roland's ****ing cast offs !! This is OUR football club you slimy t..t
Hopefully on a better wage! God knows why it took to the 4th week of January though. One thought I had. Obviously with the imminent arrival of this young striker from Holland it is safe to say RD seems to be using his own scouting network (I imagine this player was earmarked for Liege). Perhaps he's had his own men at our games to get the low down on our current squad, and it's possible they've deemed Wiggins A) good enough and B) young enough to represent signing on a much longer contract than we've been used to the past 5 odd years.
I might be in a minority of one, but I'd be more upset at losing Wiggins than Kermit, particularly now that Holmes-Dennis has reverted to his midfield role. You can see what a difference he makes by looking at the last 3 games.
I'm with you on this FHB. I did that thread several weeks back on if we could keep 3 who would they be. I believe Wiggins made every list
We don't have a real left winger, if it wasn't for Wiggins we would be even easier to defend against, great news if he signs the contract.
You think you're depressed Vol... I've just spent my time toting up all the hypocrisies on other sites, and boy oh boy, it fills a book... On a positive note I'm insuring my business knowledge is up to scratch by catching up on all PA's posts on CL... I fear a full on depression by tomorrow, if our squad doesn't look brighter... Right now, I just can't get rid of this image I get, of some Belgium guy giving us a right royal rogering... , All will be well by tomorrow, won't it..?
Nick Osborn ‏@ozno95 10m Yann Kermorgant's move to the cherries could be called off as no agreement has been made by the player or the club #afcb #cafc
This was the one crumb of comfort I had when I heard the news yesterday - surely Yann would only move to Bournemouth if he wanted to? As much as he may be unhappy with the running of the club, I think he still has great affection for CAFC and the fans, as well as being grateful for giving him another chance in English football. Of course, if this move does actually go through, what I've just written will look pretty stupid.
Could easily see Yann as a future Charlton manager one day... and the fans would welcome him...but lets keep him as a player for now
Alex Aldridge @accordingtolado 2m Been confirmed that a bid has been made for Simeon Jackson and expecting things to happen very quickly. Unconfirmed reports that we have also placed a bid for Wiggins from Charlton with Scot McDonald going the other way and we have received offers from Bolton and Middlesborough for Trotter.#mfc
Bit late with Wiggins seeing he's just signed a 4.5 year deal On the SkySports Transfer Live page though they may be a bit behind (with Kermo) though not surprised with Stephens Charlton boss Chris Powell has conceded he is likely to lose key men Dale Stephens and Yann Kermorgant ahead of Friday's transfer deadline. Brighton are poised to sign midfielder Stephens and Bournemouth have made a bid for Kermogant. "It looks likely that Dale will complete his move to Brighton. The fee has been agreed and I am led to believe that personal terms are done. It may be subject to a medical but it looks likely to happen"
So whats the point in signing a new deal and leaving 24-hrs later especially when the OS quotes him saying "I'm delighted... I've got security now and can concentrate on the playing"
He could say exactly the same thing if he was to sign a identical contract with a club 4 miles down the road, too date i cannot recall a player being quoted as saying "No one else came in for me so to keep the wolves from the door i thought i'd might as well sign a new contract".
