I could pretend that this thread is about needing to press Southampton and close them down like they do to teams, but it's really just a response to Surly's complaint about too many threads named after Dad's Army. Sorry, couldn't resist.
I've got an ominous feeling about this game - we're at home, which means we'll try play football against them and as they showed against Arsenal, that's exactly what they want. It's got to be a solid team performance with good discipline in the middle of the park especially. We might end up going long periods without the ball so Berba has to put a shift in and I wouldn't have Dempsey in for this one. I think it needs 3 centre mids (so no Kasami as AM to start but there to bring on in the second half) harrying their midfield and getting quick balls to Dejegah and Kaca down the wings. Reither probably going to be restricted by Shaw but it will be an interesting battle. They have got some real quality in that team so if we're not careful it could be a big defeat. If we play the right system and every player tries then we can get the win but it remains to be seen whether Berba bothers to turn up.
Hopefully Zorba will play, mix it up a bit and grab a couple of goals! I'd not play Berbatov at all. On the bench and let him sulk all he likes.
Really, I think more of an Air Raid Warden Hodges. I'm more your Frazer type - totally pessimistic most of the time. Who's going to put their hand up for Pike, though.
I have sudden splurges of optimism. Like at the start of the season when I thought we actually do quite well. See why pessimism is easier?
