There will be no return to safe standing in this country over the dead bodies of the 96. Hope this helps. All seater stadia, was a consequence of Hillsborough. So on that basis this is a correlation between the two.
Not really, the report after the tragedy looked at other factors, not directly linked to the incident. One factor was the crowd demographic being mainly male. One consideration was to look at ways of encouraging women and children and one consideration of that was seating. To link the two directly was more a consequence of opportunism and lazy journalism. All else being equal, seating would have made Hillsborough worse.
I think it will come but not sure about shortly. I think we are 5 years away at least. What would be your guesstimate on the timescale?
Also, there was a drummer in the away end(our end) at Southend on Saturday. Not a fan of this myself.
At the moment, we have the worsed of all worlds, with standing tolerated in areas with clear hazards. That's its own proof that standing is safe. Any problems are with factors other than seats/no seats.
As another southern supporter I disagree. The blokes I go with make as much noise as anyone and we don't just go to the southern games.
