Cork is a bit of a Ledge in my eyes, be very disappointed if he went.
And as for comparing him against Wanyama, they play different and I think Cork is more adaptable to suit games.
If Cork had been asking to leave due to sitting on the bench for the start of the season, I'd hope he is happier now.
We need him, Hope Poch states Cork is not for sale, Lets keep him happy.

I'd be surprised, given Shaw's injury/sickness record and the fact that Targett isn't ready yet. Unless Clyne or Chambers covers LB?

If Poch is as much a fan of Cork as I am, then Cork will be getting offered a four/five year extension on his contract pretty bloody soon.

I find that extremely hard to believe. But even if that is the case it doesn't mention anything about the type of pass. Two centre backs playing 'keep-ball' doesn't really make for a meaningful stat.

    I do have Cork-tinted glasses though:emoticon-0115-inlov

Are Saints a feeder club for Forest? Do all our players have to go to Forest sometime in their career?

It doesn't, but I wasn't talking about who makes the best/most accurate passes, that's just passes attempted per game which serves as a pretty decent indicator of times they're given possession. Not absolute, but unless Wanyama wins the ball himself over 10 times a game more than Cork (which would mean he's so ridiculously better at winning it back there's no debate at all) he's given the ball more.

The evidence of my own eyes tells me different. Must be those glasses getting in the way. As I said, I would discount the centre backs but I certainly wouldn't have put Wanyama up there.

Not said it ever before, but... THIS.

We're constantly bemoaning our lack of squad depth in terms of genuine quality. We have that in this position, with great competition for those two slots, and people want to get rid of Cork?? Apart from anything, he is a third option, in that he is not the same type of player as Wanyama, and brings something that Wanyama doesn't - namely he's a conduit for the flow of the ball.

Fair enough if a deal looks as good as done, and it's people coming to terms with the reality. But to practically be giving him away based on a rumour is ridiculous.

"I'll be watching Friday night, but I'm not sure if we need the signings," says Cork when asked about his thoughts on transfer deadline day. "I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't sign anyone, because we've got a great bunch in there."

This doesn't sound like someone contemplating life at Swansea.

He's not wrong, Wanyama is above him, however Cork's average is dragged down significantly by his substitute appearances. Because of those his average passes per game is 42.1 but in the 5 full 90 minutes he's played he's made 56, 58, 51, 93 and 78 passes. Comparatively in Vic's last 5 full 90 minutes he made 47, 53, 64, 63 and 37 passes. And as I finish typing that having just gone through all those match reports, I realise I have completely wasted 5 minutes as I could just go by passes/minute, of which Cork makes 0.78 and Wanyama makes 0.61.

You definitely do have Cork-tinted glasses, though. ;)

That's a good point, I completely forgot sub appearances would butcher that. Granted, that shows there are problems with such a small sample size because a 93 pass game throws the mean out a bit.

I think it's clear to any casual observer that Cork makes more (and better) passes than Wanyama does. And Wanyama makes more tackles than Cork does. This idea that only one of them can be on the pitch at any time is getting quite tedious really.
