I think that we are actually doing rather well and easily exceeding pre-season expectations. Also, as an earlier poster mentioned, it is a very un- QPR'ish season as there is stability, a long term vision and no soap opera drama off the pitch (changes of manager, player revolts, guns in board room, point deduction threats, etc, etc). The only "complaint" we can have is that the football could be more attractive with more goals and that we are 8 points behind the leaders in 2nd. However, I personally can settle for this, and hope that we can continue to collect points at 2 per game for the next 19 matches. The next three matches (Burnley, Derby & Reading) will be a quite significant test of our character and perforance. I look forward to watching them (on the web).
is what should have been said the last time we went up but no lets change as much as we can as quick as we can
Who would have thought a team with defence including Gabidon and Delaney would survive in the EPL ?? I think its more about harmony/stability in the dressing room and a tough work ethic, and all team members putting their bodies on the line for each other. Of course you need skill and guile to prosper, "but steady as she goes". Cant deny next 3 games are crucial.
I would think being able to put two halves together in the same game not consecutive weeks would be quite important
A good thread highlighting the positivity we should be feeling. As said above, you don't average two points per game for over a season purely on being fortunate but there has to be some luck in there too (as with any promotion chasing side). It's unlikely, given the changes that were rightfully made in the Summer, that we'd be playing with huge amounts of flair and be in the position we are now - we would have lost some more close games while going for the win. We need to focus on the here and now because it's been tough so far and won't get any easier. If we should go up, we will need to improve but this is nothing new (how many teams have been promoted with ready-made Premiership squads?) and a problem I'd gladly welcome in 4 months' time. Well done lads - keep it up!
Kiwi, You now raise a different (but relevent and painfull) topic which we remember only too well. I think it is the root cause for the various bouts of doom and gloom on the board. Our team could be "too good" for the Championship but is very likely to be "not good enough" for the Premiership, thus we would need to rebuild and fight for the points, etc ,etc. But let's take things one step at a time and let's enjoy the going whilst it is good. Because at the moment it "should" be fun...
