He's also currently injured if i read correctly, so we won't even get to see him until March.

Nope voted yes. Can play anywhere across the front 4 so doesn't mean that he is a direct replacement for Giroud. Another big man up front is very good for us, and our team of midgets.

Could be the final piece of the puzzle.

The story doing the rounds yesterday was that Draxler had an appointment with some top medical dude and has been told he will be fit again within 7 days. Which is what has lead to us increasing our determination to sign him before the windowcloses rather than wait for summer. Supposedly.

I think Wenger is probably looking at him as a short term replacement for Walcott - maybe we had the intention of buying him in the summer but Theo's injury has prompted his hand.

You've only gotta look and see that we're playing an 18 year old with no experience on the right wing at the moment.. I love Gnabry but he doesn't come close to Draxler yet, who has 3 years Bundesliga and 2 years Champions League experience (including 4 goals this season)

exactly this. i have a feeling if we try to go cheap (i heard 20mil + poldi? what's the antithesis of #aha? #noha? i know poldi's always in arsene's doghouse for some reason but still..... dont get rid of a guy whose mindset is to come on and score goals as opposed to impressing pappy arsene by saying "LOOK PAPA!!!! LOOK I CAN MAKE AN EXTRA PASS IN THE BOX TO TRY AND FIND THE WIDE OPEN TAP IN!!!1)

    ahem.

yeah i have a feeling if we try to go cheap it'll bite us in the ass. look what happened when supposedly trying to wrangle napoli down from 27mil to 23.5mil for higuain..... napoli got their cavani $$$ and turned around and said ~30mil (37mil euros?) and it was a steak dinner BOOM (done deal) situation. for my $$$ it seems like arsenal always tries to haggle down the prices because they're "smart" and "not gonna get took" but there comes a point where it's like "LOOK GUYS, IF YOU HAVE THIS SUPPOSED 400MIL CASH RESERVE SITTING AROUND AND YOU FANCY WINNING THE DAMN PREM SOMETIMES YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO BURN AN EXTRA 5-10MIL TO GET THE GUYS YOU NEED TO WIN. IT'S THAT SIMPLE"

can you imagine how nice it'd be to have higuain in there in place of / alongside giroud? jesus christ he's exactly what we need (a proper #9, whereas giroud's more of a hybrid CF/AM and a bit of a false 9) because while it's great to have ~5 guys up front who are all unselfish and looking to set up the highest % / beautiful goal (jack vs norwich comes to mind) still, man, it's maddening when you're prone to having those 45-85 minute runs without goals where you outright dominated possession for 2/3 of the game because and only because the perfect situation didn't line up.

so philosophically speaking, if you're going to burn offensive opportunities, would you rather it be because some skilled goal-scorer says "F IT, MY TURN" and does his damndest to get the ball make a football move and then kick the ball in the net, or would you rather take the lower % chance of making 3 perfectly intricate passes through heavy defender traffic in the box that could result in the highest % shot, a tap in?"

valid philosophical question, and clearly we know which one papa arsene fancies.
