We are hearing that Queens Park Rangers are lining up a move St Johnstone star Stevie May. QPR boss Harry Redknapp is looking to bolster his attacking options before the close of the transfer window and May is thought to figure highly on his wanted list. QPR are thought to have watched May on several occasions this season with the striker scoring 20 goals so far this season for St Johnstone.

What sort of level are St Johnstone compared to the championship?

League One, I think Orient, Brentford and Wolves would be too good for them...

So hes a sort of scottish Nakhi Wells? He might make the transition but its a gamble. Hardly proven & experienced at this level. We wanted Rhodes might get this lad instead?

He won't cost as much as Rhodes and scores lots of goals in the league that Hooper used to. We would have been happy with him. Plus Perth is a lovely town.

Considering Celtic are chasing a Wolves striker, that would put St Johnson bottom of league 1 ??

Lets hope he is better than that.

Not saying the lad won't be any good Col far from it but one day its a French U21 for upwards of €5m the next day its a lad from St Johnstone. I'm just trying to understand how big a gap the transition might be for him. Im all for trying up and coming players but is he any more than Hitchcock?

Ditto, but the difference is May has been playing regular competitive matches, and scoring, albeit in a weaker league.

Scoring is all about confidence, so he will have bagloads of that

I hear that Mike Petrasso is supposed to be better than Hitchcock.

Chance? fair enough but sorry Chevanton didn't get one and he did had some pedigree. May is scoring a few goals but the clue is in fact that that's in Scotland in a standard of football not as good as the championship IMO. With Wubba on this ... I think it smells like a distraction for the media... If we get up where does that leave him? as i don't if Austin will make the step up to the Premiership at the moment ... Why hasn't anyone come in for Austin now???

Hull did go for Charlie. He failed the medical, may have put a few others off.

I have no idea what type of squad we are trying to build, but its a very temporary looking one.

    Could not agree more.

This is a young guy who will see QPR as a big step up and will give it everything having played over 100 career games already and scoring a hatful. How can anyone be negative about this?
