Will it score around 8-12 goals per season? If so, you have a deal. <ok>

We've bid for Grenier, substantial offer apparently.

Interesting that the bid for Grenier would represent around 0.5% of Ashley's total worth. With his Swiss bank accounts, he's probably bringing in that kind of money every month on interest alone. I'm not saying he SHOULD be pitching more into the club, but......

    http://www.psg.fr/en/News/003001/Article/65397/Yohan-Cabaye-joins-Paris-until-June-2017

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN is delighted to announce the transfer Yohan Cabaye to the capital club from Newcastle United until June 2017. He will wear the No.4 jersey.

Crowned French champion and winner of the Coupe de France in 2011 with Lille, Yohan Cabaye, also reached the last-16 of the Champions League. He has played 26 for France and will most likely add his name to the long list of Paris Saint-Germain players taking part in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"Wanted by a number of prestigious clubs, the new Parisian midfielder has chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain. The transfer of Yohan Cabaye is further proof of the club's capacity to attract the best French and overseas players. We are expecially delighted to welcome him to the Paris Saint-Germain family to help the in its upcoming challenges in the second half of the season," declared Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi.

"I was won over by the ambitious project at Paris Saint Germain and I can't wait to join this exceptional squad and help the team reach its objectives in France and in Europe," declared Yohan Cabaye.

Born in Tourcoing in 1986, Yohan Cabaye joined Lille OSC in 2003 where, after completing his academy training, he began his professional career in the 2004-05 season. As early as his second season, he became a first-choice player and made his UEFA Champions League debut in 2005. He played 254 matches with the LOSC with whom he won the 2011 Ligue 1 championship.

After transferring to Newcastle United in 2011 he enjoyed his first experience of an overseas league, quickly imposing himself in the Magpies midfield in the Premier League. He scored four goals this season.

and the Toons take on it

    http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20140129/united-confirm-cabaye-sale_2281670_3644143

Newcastle United can confirm the sale of Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain for an undisclosed fee.

Yohan leaves the club after two-and-a-half seasons at St. James' Park.

Newcastle United have benefitted significantly from Yohan's talents since his arrival from Lille in the summer of 2011, and the player has likewise benefitted, developing hugely during his time on Tyneside.

The Club wanted to keep him but the lure of Champions League football and the prospect of being involved in the sporting project at PSG was an opportunity that Yohan made very clear to us he wanted to take.

Yohan leaves the Club with our best wishes for his future at PSG and, hopefully, as part of the French national squad for this summer's World Cup.

The BBC have reported the fee as being £19m. Bit disappointed in this after all the Ashley tripe of £35m/£25m would be required. Mata is not worth 2 of Cabaye.

I think we could save ourselves a lot of disappointment if we just assume that everything Ashley says is tripe.

    Always.

    And forever.
