    You started the slagging off.<ok>

As for our status, still a top draw in football even without the CL, still the most successful English club in European football competition, still one of the richest clubs in the world, a club that almost went bankrupt just over 2 years ago and has had 4 different managers in that short space of time, a club that has been in two CL finals since Arsenal last won a trophy other than the hemroids cup.

All in all a sleeping giant.<whistle>

arsenal in farness from january to january were good... but.... the test for arseanl is february. where arsenal seem to fall apart time after time. this will be interesting... even last year they only managed to get back to 4th... feb still took its toll

Aim for fourth/third at most. We're not finishing above city so hope they batter spurs. Wouldn't mind a repeat of yesterday's red card fest either.

city are hit and miss way from home though aren't they?

be surprised if they get the same sort of battering we gave them, although according to one deluded spurs fan we was lucky they had an off day, so they could batter city lol.

    City 8 Spurs 0

Can't believe there's still people who think we have a shot at the title.

City struggled away from home early in the season but I think Pellegrini was adjusting to a more competitive league (the poor teams in Spain don't expect to beat Barca/Real at home, often they are happy to keep the score down)

City's recent away form is fairly good:

Agree with this. Basically anything but a spurs win. Draw or city win helps us and city are pretty good to watch too! Whereas spurs aren't!
Chelsea will beat west ham so maybe arsenal will be the one we will need to set our sights on. Think Chelsea and city will now pull away and battle for the title. I really hope it's not the chavs though.

Each to their own but I don't get the City win stuff, I understand that there is only a very, very small chance that we could win this league but if we are to have any chance at all then we need the teams above us to drop points.

We then have destiny in our own hands as they all have to come to Anfield, if we win then our small chance becomes a very big chance. Surely we should be looking up the league and not look at what's creeping up behind us?

On paper we are not good enough and City, Chelsea and Gooners are all better but that's on paper and we play on grass and we are Liverpool. I believe we can do it and will hold onto that hope until it is no longer possible.

I believe we need to look both ways. Realistically 3rd or 4th place would be an enormous acheivement for us and while I would never want us to give up on the title if it's still within our grasp, it's important that we finish at least 4th if we want to keep Suarez and sign better players to enable us to challenge for seasons to come.
City will most likely finish top 2 anyway regardless of tonight's result so I would rather they win than spurs.

I would like it to be a draw (for all teh mathematical reasons already given) but I think the reality is that City will tear the Spuds a new one. I don't there's anyone in the league that compares to City at the moment, they would need a spectacular decline in form not to win the Premiership. On the plus side, seeing the Spuds humiliated does have it's merits.

I seem to be very much in the minority, I understand what your saying but just can't bring myself to give up on that title and if we are to have any chance the teams above us need to drop points. A draw would be ideal. :D

I haven't given up on the title. But the title is a dream whereas 4th place is tangible, we can almost touch it (long way to go I know). To go from where we were last season to win the title is Roy of the Rovers stuff. To get top 4 would just be remarkable!:D

Given that we have done all that we can to influence matters then on a very fine balance I will go for a City win. We have daylight in relation to Everton and I want the same over Spurs. Sure that gives us no advantage against City but they still have us to play at home and other top sides. But I wouldn't cry if it were a draw. A Spurs win is not something I want to contemplate.

Rivals losing as many points as possible. I consider both rivals until they're not.
