Also. Draw = rivals combined get 2 points. Win/Loss means rivals combined get 3 points.
Statistically- less points given to teams around us in a draw than anyone winning.

City would have to screw up (and we have to get a DM in) but both teams are neighbours of ours on the table and we are competing with them- we could beat City to third (unlikely though)... City could even drop out of top 4 and us AND spurs overtake them.

    6 points between 1 and 4 isn't a lot.

Last thing I'd want though is for Spurs to win.

spurs to be humiliated... not beaten but humiliated.

city will in this league. end of.

having city finally ahead of arsenal will add a bit of pressure to them as the february month of death starts so with ALL LUCK we will be in the fa cup 6th round and 3rd in the prem by months end.

post arsenal we must win the next 4 games. (sunderland is rearranged to monday the 10th march) 6th round will be that weekend so in theour we could play friday the 7th if we are able to beat arsenal

the 4 league games after arsenal are going to be key.

    Fulham
    Swansea City
    Southampton
    Sunderland

add west brom before that..... thats 15 huge points to play for add those 15 to our current total and we would be getting 61 points..

hard games but with sturridge and suarez fighting for goals... we have a chance...

then its utd at thier place... it'd be just great to pocket 61 or 62 or 64 points going there. a draw there could well then put utd out of contention for 4th...

this is the very very best scenario we could hope for... it'd be just dreamland to go to old toilet with 64 points in our pockets and an FA cup 6th round victory too boot.

We sure did crush the bitters, but imo the real challengers to us are spuds and United. I never saw Everton lasting the season and getting CL - although not denying yesterday was crucial for us still

I agree that Spuds and United are bigger threats- but Everton is still very close... I think Martinez is working wonders with them- and they could keep up pressure for the rest of the season.

I don't think they're out of it... I think people are wrong to overlook them.

  7. I thought Arsenal would be so thank **** Man Utd have derailed more than I expected <yikes>

Interesting that you think Everton will fall away. I assume this is due to their squad size which isn't too dissimilar to ours?

You're right, but our starting 11 is stronger than theirs, that I was always confident about. I still think we could well be a few injuries away from disaster, but then again we've always had a thin squad and somehow coped

LUKAKU UPDATE: The on-loan Everton striker will be out for 3-4 weeks, his first ankle scan suggests, meaning the Toffees won't dip into the market for another striker. Expect Lacina Traore to be thrown into the fire!

Spurs win, look up until we can see only sky.

  11. Our starting eleven is stronger but only because of one player; Suarez. When everyone is fit, I think they have a better defence than us, midfield is about equal and attack is ours. Not much in the keepers either. However, I think their squad players are better than ours and perhaps having a few more bodies to choose from too.

IMO, it just shows how important a top class player can be.

Actually, I'm not content at all with just finishing in the top 4 and getting no silverware, so don't know what you're talking about. We have made big improvements this season compared to the last 2, this year we have at least established ourselves as challengers for the title, rather than only scrapping for top 4 as we had to for the past 2 seasons. Also breaking the bank to sign a legit world class player like Ozil is also another good sign, and with lot's of money coming in thanks to new sponsorship deals and paying off a lot of our initial debt, we can have more leverage in the transfer markets for quality players to help us.

Anyways, don't understand why you like to slag us off, remind me please, what's been Liverpool's status over the past few years? At least we've kept our top 4 spot, something you like to deride, and something your team haven't been able to pull off in 4 seasons, so you've got to love the irony of a Liverpool fan trying to put Arsenal down.

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City (19:45 GMT)

Manchester City have scored 17 goals in their last five league games against Tottenham, including the 6-0 win at the Ethiad Stadium in November.

They are unbeaten in 19 matches, netting 64 goals in that period and they have scored with 21.2% of their shots this season, the best chance conversion rate in the Premier League.

Spurs have only lost once in their last 10 league matches (5-0 against Liverpool), and if the league had started after Tim Sherwood took charge at White Hart Lane, Manchester City would be top with 18 points and the Lilywhites would be second with 16.
