Berbatov for £2million is a no brainer imo. Him alongside either Adebayor or Soldado makes our strike force a lot better. I know he left in a bitter way but some of the goals he scored for us and touches were amazing.
Berbatov the player is easily worth £2m. Berbatov the person is another question. He became a real ****er when he wanted out and I think his fart arsing about caused some unrest in the dressing room. I'm very 50-50 as whether I'd take him back.
Telegraph says that Levy is definitely interested in Berbatov at £1.5mil. Despite Sherwood saying he doesn't need any more strikers!...sticking point seems to be that Fulham want to keep him until the end of the season.
Neither are anywhere near that description mate! , both have had plenty of time and opportunities, and in that time prompted us to only talk about what there best position is...cos nobody knows!, and what they bring...not enough goals or assists...move them on! we haven't got time for 'potential' to rear its ugly head...because it might not!
I was trying to be nice to them! Yeah if we get decent bids for them I won't lose any sleep over their departures.
I tend to agree. The only problem being that we can't move too many players on too quickly as we don't want to be short. Sig, capoue and holtby all leaving could give us a depth problem at the other end of the spectrum! If anyone offers 5-6mill for sig, we should take it. I can't see anyone paying 8m for him. Although Holtby hasn't exactly set the world alight, he only cost 1.5m and is worth keeping. At least for now.
I think we might be sorry if we lose Holtby. I don't see that any of our new players have had a chance in view of the restrictions imposed on them by AVB. I still believe Holtby could turn into a very valuable player in the Carrick mold. Loan would be best at this stage.
Me, too. If he came back, worked hard, scores a lot of goals, it would be churlish to dredge up the past. However, if he comes in and acts exactly like he has been at Fulham, then he can **** off right now!
In terms of dressing room unrest, there's hardly anyone left from Berbatov's days. Dawson, Lennon, Defoe, anyone else?
I'm ambivalent about it. I don't care for the way he behaved when he left us, but he is still a class striker - when he can be arsed!..
I agree. He's never really been given the chance to settle in the side. He's still young, cost us next to nothing, so why get rid of him? - unless he's really pushing to leave, which may be the case.
Rather strange join-the-dots rumour doing the rounds that Holtby may join Fulham on loan as part of a deal to bring Berbatov back to the Lane. Might make sense for everyone involved, but it seems like a bit of a stretch. Would explain why our German Scouser's missus has just moved to London, though.
In possibly related news, Fulham are in talks with Konstantinos Mitroglou, a Greek striker. He currently plays for Olympiakos and the fee is rumoured to be around £11m.
