Last night saw Hull continue to plummet as we all knew would happen. They've spend big on strikers and still haven't scored in 2014. They were discussing Europe the other day but now, after Palace completed the double over them, realise they're in big trouble. They've suddenly stopped coming on here shouting 'we're 10th and Sunderland are going down'. I said, a few weeks back, that by the time they came to the NE we'd be in a position to go above them. Naturally, because of their nature, they laughed . . . . can't see too much laughing over there now. When they beat 9 man Sunderland, with an own goal, they went 10 points clear. By masterminding a laughable run of defeats Bruce has cut that lead in half. If Sunderland, by whatever means, manage to beat Stoke that lead will look very slender. We all know that if Hull had brought a 10 point lead to the SOL this board would've been swamped with Hull posts but it's all gone quiet. They stayed on here for weeks after we'd handed them victory didn't they They kept insisting Bruce was the best manager they've ever had and that Sunderland are worse off without him. If they lose to Spurs I suspect even they will be able to see through his excuses. It's NOT 'cos you're a Geordie you fat knacker

It looks like there could be a frosty atmosphere between Poyet and Hughes tonight, with Poyet accusing Hughes of trying to play mind games by trying to unsettle some of the Sunderland players with unfounded transfer speculation... I must confess that I do not like Hughes, who comes across as a very arrogant individual...let's hope his remarks 'stokes' our players up for this game..

I don't think it'll be pretty. But who gives a **** about that. 3 points is vital. As mentioned elsewhere, I'm more nervous about this match than I was last Wednesday against Man U. For night games I usually go to the Victory Club, which I believe is one of your haunts when you get to games..I will have my teenage son with me, and the Victory Club allow him in, unlike some of the pubs/clubs over the town..
I'm driving tonight, so that means I can't have a drink, which means stress levels will be at max. I therefore appeal to Gus & the lads for 2 early goals, to save a die hard fan from extra stress. Just one time this season, let's do the job early.
Mate, I would love some of that. Would have loved to have Scocco over the line like, cos Stoke will be more than happy with a point, we could do with the extra guile. I do think the club and players are in a good place at the minute and we will nick this, hopefully there's a good turnout cos this is a huge game. I'd guess about that, Stoke don't bring loads, but they are generally quite vocal, so hopefully that kickstarts the morgue that is the SOL.... Announcing a signing today would be PR genius if anyone from the club is reading! Even if it's a fake one!
