Yeah, Dejan has really embraced the whole club and the fans. Which in turn gets him lots of supporters which makes him feel more welcome and therefore settle quickly. Our best PL signing without a doubt.
Yes, a great analogy. I'm buzzing. Just got back to Northampton and need to be up at 6, but can't sleep. Buzzing.
Just watched the game. Even more happy about it. Gallagher looked really good. Everyone misses a bad one now and again, and really there was a little more effort/awareness/skill involved in that chance than it might seem. It's not like he was strolling around the pitch and the ball fell from the sky right to his waiting foot. So there was really more to be positive just that he was there than negative. If he keeps putting himself in position like that, he'll score regularly. Loved everything about the third goal. Shaw being aggressive, the fact that we came right back after going down, the way it was against the run-of-play at the time and we just took advantage with a couple of passes and a clinical finish. If Rodriguez actually picked Lallana out with that pass, it was a beauty and if he's added that to his game then he's going to be a force. Also Lallana's finishing seems to have improved tremendously this year and that was another example. So it all bodes well for the future. It was a pretty goal anyway, but I felt like it maybe it was a lot more meaningful than what you see on the surface.
Just got in. Echo the sentiments here, we played them off the park. Absolutely gutted we didn't win that game. Fantastic all round team performance.
Just watched the match back on Sky, lost count of the number of world class touches and turns Lallana has in the match, just incredible.
He's become one of those players who "always has time on the ball" as they say. Looks so comfortable at this level now.
That's the happiest I have seen Mauricio post-match (what is the Spanish for stoked?). So we may see someone in and out during this transfer window.
Pretty much the same as our first half at Sunderland, which was the best I`ve seen Saints for ages ? And achieved without our 4 most expensive signings, and talismanic striker. Well done lads.
Not having Sky, I have only my memory from last night and I will have to see if my bro has it. Honestly, I am not even slightly gutted to not have the three points because that was one of those evenings when you just felt blessed to have been there. The pitch looked fantastic under the lights, there didn't seem to be a spare seat and nobody on the pitch had a bad game. The must have been the odd misplaced pass but u don't recall many. The crowd were vocal but not particularly loud, as if they were too engrossed in the match to really let go. Both sides oozed quality. On second thoughts maybe I shouldn't watch a recording; it couldn't actually have been as good as I recall....could it?
Oh, just one more thing. Looking at the Yeovil game and last night, I thought from my vantage point in the Chapel, that his team mates were rather disinclined to pass to Guly. Maybe others were in better positions but in the final third he hardly got a kick.
Yeah I don't know if it's just a confidence thing or what, but his first touch is immaculate now. He can receive the ball at awkward heights, bring it down, turn and accelerate ridiculously quickly now. The big teams unfortunately will have noticed that. It's genuinely Messi-esque, or at least Aimar-esque.
There was one passage of play where Lallana back-heeled the ball to Davis, who did a double Cruyff turn and slipped the ball to Gallagher. Sczeczny managed to save the shot, but if it had gone in it would have qualified for Goal of the Season. As it was, Lallana's goal should be Goal of the Month. Adam could see exactly where J Rod was going to put the ball and got himself in front of the defender in time to meet it. Great vision. He really is fast becoming the only option for Hodgson in that position.
