Fulham boss Meulensteen confirms AC Milan's interest in on-loan QPR playmaker 28 Jan 2014 23:27 Taarabt left out of squad for 2-0 defeat against Swansea Share on print Share on email Wanted man: Adel Taarabt Wanted man: Adel Taarabt AC Milan have made an enquiry for QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt, Rene Meulensteen has confirmed. The mercurial Moroccan, on a season-long loan to Fulham, was left out of the squad for Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat at Swansea . And manager Meulensteen says it was not right to include the playmaker for the trip to South Wales. He said: "There's been interest and we thought it'd be a wise decision to not include him. "We'll see how it develops over the next few days." Meulensteen remained tight-lipped over Fulham's interest in Milan centre-back Cristian Zaccardo, while the Dutchman says chief executive Alistair Mackintosh is dealing with the club's pursuit of £11.5million-rated Olympiakos striker Kostas Mitroglu. He added: "I can't really discuss [Mitroglou] at this time, because I need to have a chat with Alistair Mackintosh. He will know exactly what the situation is regarding the player." Swansea City v Fulham - Barclays Premier League Deadlock breaker: Jonjo Shelvey opened the scoring at the Liberty Stadium Fulham missed chances to take the lead before goals from Jonjo Shelvey and Chico Flores saw them beaten 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium. The Cottagers remain out of the bottom three, although relegation rivals West Ham and Sunderland have a game in hand. "We need to make sure we need to get our noses in front for once, if you do it becomes a different sort of game," Meulensteen said. "We're lacking goals. The chances we get are few and far between, so the opportunities you get we have to take. "The only way to get out of this is to win games, get your noses in front and you have to drag yourselves out of it. "There are two things; you need to defend better and you need to take your chances."
This was taken from the sky sports transfer centre…. "Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen has confirmed AC Milan have made an enquiry for Adel Taarabt with reports suggesting Milan defender Cristian Zaccardo could go the other way to Craven Cottage as part of the deal." Correct me if I am wrong but doesn’t the deal have to be with us???
Balotelli - Kaka - Robinho - de Jong - Muntari. Will not be easy for Tarbs to break through in that line up. Yet another last chance saloon? Who knows!!!
I guess as they have loaned him from us for the season, and will have paid a fee to do so, they are entitled to re-loan him. He would remain our player at the end of the loan unless a full transfer can be agreed.
BBC have confirmed interest... Seedorf up for a gamble.... http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25939582 AC Milan are keen on signing Adel Taarabt, say Fulham Italian giants AC Milan are keen to sign Fulham's on-loan midfielder Adel Taarabt, according to the Cottagers' manager Rene Meulensteen. The 24-year-old QPR player is at the Premier League club on a season-long loan and could be involved in a loan swap deal with Milan's 32-year-old defender Cristian Zaccardo. "There has been some interest [in Taarabt] - that is all I know so far," said the Fulham manager. Taarabt on top Taarabt was named Championship player of the year in 2010-11 in QPR's title-winning season "I have no concrete news." Taarabt was not involved in Tuesday's 2-0 league defeat at Swansea. "We thought it would be a wise decision to not include him," the Dutch boss added. Morocco international Taarabt began his career at Lens before moving to Tottenham in 2007. During his three years at White Hart Lane he had two loan spells at QPR before joining the Loftus Road club in a permanent deal in August 2010. He helped the Hoops return to the Premier League in his first season, but could not prevent them from sliding back down at the end of the 2012-13 campaign. Fulham are also understood to be interested in signing Olympiakos striker Kostas Mitroglou, with a reported £11.5m offer made to the Greek club. "I can't really discuss [Mitroglou] at this time, because I need to have a chat with [Fulham chief executive] Alistair Mackintosh," added the Fulham manager. "He will know exactly what the situation is regarding the player."
I feel very confident that if all these players are currently fit then Adel is better I hope sincerely if he goes he grabs the chance to play for one of the world's greatest clubs ... Future Champion League winner maybe ... what a stage and what a player good luck Adel ... If our fan base and idiot manager can reject players like Cesar, Granero, Remy, and Taraabt then it's a great reflection of exactly where we have gone ... down the ****ter
QPR have the final decision on whether he can go or not. They also said as long as his wages are taken care in line with the current loan deal then he can go there. QPR pretty much are happy with him playing anywhere that keeps him in the shop window I think.
My wife has promised me a belated birthday present trip to Milan (we met there many, many years ago) to eat, drink, dance and catch a game. Its about time we booked..........
