Not a great night, but not the end of the world. Some things we need to note: 4-4-2 is predictable, too. Tactics are great, players who play to your expectations are worth their wages, those who exceed your expectations are stars. None of our stars are twinkling at the moment. They will. Don't blame Mac for **** refereeing and a bit of passion; get behind him, he cares as much as you. LB is our Achilles. Way too early to judge the new lads and those back from lay-offs. Just a pity it was all this game - SB will be spitting nails - a canny few grands worth! Was the cobbled defence really so bad? Were we away or at home? Sleep on it, let Bruce fume - channelled anger is good, blind rage is weak. We are capable of being and will be a damn sight better than that. The Sunderland lads will mock the so-called Bruce slump, but look at his stats with them and look at them since; there is a constant in the equation, it the expectations of a bunch of wannabes who are now pinning their hopes on a manager not one of them rated or considered after their flirt with the Italian hypocrisy. Good luck to them at Wembley, but no, the Buffalo Chips are knee deep. Pulis is paid to do a job; tonight he did it - credit to him for that.
Just seen the red card. What a shocking decision. I've seen 10 times worse and not even get a booking.
I think SB is spot on with the card and the performance. It's the best we have played for a while and were unlucky not to get a point. I'm not too sure on the penalties though.
Yeah I think we actually played relatively well, not sure why everyone is bagging Elmo. He was a bit hesitant to get forward when he became our RB which was fair enough, but most of our attacks came through him, and apart from one misplaced cross was pretty spot on. Rosey and Boyd on the left weren't bad either. Boyd should have started instead of Meyler, but apart from that I was pretty happy with the performance. It's just hard when none of the decisions go your way, rightly or wrongly.
On this thread... Post No 24. We are coming to England for the whole month of January next year and my husband will be at every Hull City match so the winless run will finally end!
Tbh I think Rosey is a good defender, but going forward he is hesitant due to him playing on the left, which is understandable. I think the problem with Elmo is that he is too predictable. Instead of trying to d something different i.e take on a man, cut to the byline etc, he'll just chuck a lazy ball in. He's definitely improved defensively though.
Quinn also needs to be singled out for praise. When some of our guys were hesitant to lay a tackle late on he jumped straight in and won the ball crucially a handful of times.
And almost got us a point at the end. I think he should be given a chance instead of Meyler. Will bring a bit of energy and hustle to the midfield.
I believe it was "Big Ron" Atkinson who first said "I'm not allowed to discuss the referee - so I won't mention the prick"! Steve will find himself in hot water again.
Long 1 game no goals. Jellywitch 2 games no goals. Bloody useless ,should have kept the improving Prossy and the hard working Mclean. We're doomed. Unless we beat TottEnHam,then we are the greatest. Up the Tigers/City * * delete as appropiate to views.
