Liverpool have a few injuries to deal with and so do we, with a little luck Coleman could be back without risking a long term injury.

Villa showed that if you outnumber them in midfield it could be a way to get at the back four.

Will Rodgers dare to start with Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho? Playing 433?

how will we setup for the game?

I think we should be allowed 15 players the way Liverpool are playing rugby v Bournemouth the grappling and shirt pulling they do defending corners Is way more than any team I have seen this season...

I hope they play like this Tuesday and we play ok, For the large part they are getting outplayed by Bournemouth tbh

I'd like us to go to Anfield and attack tbh Liverpool look poor.

Our injury situation makes this an even tougher assignment. However if Rodgers is daft enough to play a 4 man midfield we'll dominate the game

Even better if fit to start. Him against Gerrard would a great contest.

I said last year that Gerrard was past It but the title contenders wouldn't have It now most of them moan he should be used as an impact sub....I hope me saying that hasn't cursed us lol

First of all, as the first non-EFC fan to post on this thread, I hope for a little compassion and mercy with the responses. As a LFC fan, I expect none. <laugh>

Hardly. I doubt you'll fin even the most rabid LFC fan would say this. BTW, Gerrard, IMO, is not 'past it' but he's certainly not the force he used to be. His passing and assist are still vital to our game but his energy and tackling are (obviously) not what they once were.

Not sure that it's most of us, and, as he is the captain, if he is fit he will start. For better or for worse. Time will tell.

Funnily enough, I hope the opposite. Come on, Stevie!<laugh>

P.S. I agree with Tobes' assessment of the midfield battle. If we don't dominate the midfield you'll give us a massive headache, which could rapidly turn into arseache! <ok>

CCC - Gerrard has little left in his locker beyond his still fantastic - dead ball delivery mate. His legs have gone & if he's given any form of defensive responsibility these days, he's a total liability

We were over run by Villa when playing 4-4-2 against them, Everton being the better team we'd be battered for the entire 90mins.
Will need to the SAS on fire to make up for deficiencies elsewhere in the team.

Im certainly not going to slag my team off after one dreadful performance, unlike the scummy LFC lot.But realistically, when you replace your best striker with Naismith you really need a massive injection of funds in that department.

Working from home today! Massive snow storm was predicted here but never came- so worked from home to prevent getting stranded at work. Got to see a midweek match live on telly for once... obviously I'm much happier about that than you though.

I think the difference in the first half was Liverpool just pushed a little harder than Everton. Put more effort into the runs. Went after every tackle. Everton looked to be playing well- but lacked the same motivation. Could have been different though if Everton hit the net- they did show signs of danger.

2nd half- Everton started well- but when we got goal 4- it knocked the sails out of both teams... think everyone knew it was game over at that point and the whole thing slowed down.

You lot should have capitalised more on the fact that our LB is utter rubbish and concentrated more attacks down your right side. Villa did that- and it earned them an unexpected point.

With Stones at RB and Alcaraz back there you were always going to score a hat full mate they were never going to cope with Suarez and Sturridge IMO but Its happened now we need to bounce back against Villa as our recent results haven't been great..

Depressing that me an Jonnybaws (good lad!) were the only ones to comment before the game, as commenting afterwards looks a lot like gloating or (perhaps) glory hunting to some. ;) Love you all !
